CBS’ 9JKL this Monday drew 7.2 million total viewers and a 1.4 demo rating (per finals), rising 8 percent and two tenths to mark the freshman comedy’s first gains since premiering on Oct. 2.
Leading out of that, Kevin Can Wait (6.1 mil/1.2) was up a tenth, while Me Myself & I (4.7 mil/0.9) and Scorpion (5.2 mil/0.8) held steady. Opening the Eye’s night, Big Bang Theory (13.2 mil/2.8) was steady.
Elsewhere….
NBC | The Voice (10.1 mil/2.2) slipped two tenths in the demo week to week. The Brave (5.2 mil/1.0) drew a best-since-premiere audience while steady in the demo.
FOX | Lucifer (3.3 mil/0.8) and The Gifted (3.4 mil/1.0) ticked down.
THE CW| Supergirl (1.76 mil/0.5) and Valor (880K/0.2) held steady in the demo, though the latter dropped more eyeballs.
ABC | DWTS (9.3 mil/1.3) and The Good Doctor (10.4 mil/1.8) dipped one and two tenths respectively.

Valor is dead. Last night episode was just a bore fest. IDK why I’m even watching it.
It had like 400 viewers and 0.0 demo gains in Live+3. Ouch.
I actually find myself enjoying 9JKLMNOPQRST. It’s kind of just comfort food, but it makes me laugh and the cast is fun (there is some corniness due to the format and overacting at times, but it’s enjoyable)
I’m with you. This show has so many familiar faces, it IS comfort food. It amuses me on a night where nothing else I watch is on until 10.
–
I do like Me Myself & I though too.
So funny…..9JKLMNOPQRST!!!!
I agree with you. the show is not going to break any new grounds but it is good for a watch. I like all the actors on the show and it is no worse than some other shows that have lasted for years.
This show & Kevin Can Wait SMACKS ever-irritating, pretentious #Blackish. Medocrity rules (I’m w/ you on it being a deep dish of mac & cheese comfort food) so hopefully this show remains & weekly Twitter trend gushfest orgasms for This Is Us & Black-ish ends.
Was anyone surprised about 9JKL? Should everybody quit watching a very boring sitcom that has been completely ignored by critics? You be the judge.
The Gifted a quality superhero show and Fox screwed it up. 1.0 rating? Typical Fox.
Actually Fox didn’t screwed it up. They give it a promo boost and a good lead-in. I think the viewers had some superhero’s show fatigue.
Look at Fox they can;t make a successful show work. Look at Lethal Weapon very successful last season they move it and it tanks. Gifted should be doing better than 1.0 no matter what. Very few quality hero shows on TV.
It’s poor marketing and poor publicity. Again typical. Pitch, Prison Break, 24:legacy. All shows had buzz and they killed it. Fox had a chance at This Is Us and they passed on it. Even if they had This Is Us they wouldn’t know how to market it.
Nah The Gifted is baaaad and it’s getting even worse with every new episode. Love triangles, pregnant girlfrieds, worried moms(poor Amy Acker barely gets to talk or do anything and her lines are so bad), awful dialogue, bunch of overused tv tropes, etcetera.
I’m surprised they have audience at all.
I blame David Walton and Liza Lapira… their scenes made it hard to drop the show and now I feel sucked in.
Now it will become interesting for CBS on Monday TBBT is about to leave for Thursdays and without it CBS is in trouble on this night. Still decent for Good Doctor and even if a little off Lucifer and The Gifted keep hanging on
after 15min of 1st ep…boring. Not for me.
not for me, i’m having laugh track burnout
9JKL is the new Two Broke Girls. Utterly stupid concept, terrible writing, mediocre acting, but a certain type of person just loves it, so it’ll be around for years.
I expect it to be canceled during this season. It is not the same as 2 BH’s which had some really funny stuff. This show is eh. It’s ok to watch but wouldn’t miss it.
Two questions about Big Bang.
Why didn’t Amy look at her phone for the time instead of her watch? Yes, I know there’s the whole Howard magic trick, but it seemed kind of obvious.
How is it that Sheldon, who knows/read everything has never heard of Tom Sawyer? Very sneaky on Bernadette’s part, lol!
People who wear watches will usually use them before their phone, I’ve found. However, Sheldon’s ignorance of Tom Sawyer was hard for me to accept too.
Though at the end Sheldon was mad at Mark Twain, lol!
I consider Tom Sawyer to be children’s literature, and although I’m not a genius, I was a precocious kid who tried to act like an adult from a young age, so I never read any children’s books or watched children’s movies. Other than Saturday morning cartoons in the ’70s, I was watching All In The Family, M*A*S*H and Mary Tyler Moore. I haven’t got a clue what Tom Sawyer is about, or Charlotte’s Web or Willy Wonka. I know their titles, but that’s it.
Tom Sawyer is read anywhere from 6th to 12th grade. And if you haven’t read (READ, not WATCHED the movies) of these classics, your education is sorely lacking. I grew up watching the same shows you did, and I still found time to read. And I am now going back to read (or in some cases reread) many of the classics that I did in HS. I also stress reading to my daughter, who is 13. She has already read most of the Sherlock stories, Anne Frank, The Picture of Dorian Grey … it’s called a “well rounded” education.
Congratulations on reading, but your comprehension needs work. You seem to be under the mistaken impression that I don’t read just because I didn’t read children’s books.
9JKL is just plain stupid !!!
…i.e., just sums up the mood of the country
