Fandom is a serialized storyline about the life of a forgotten community in a forgotten corner of a forgotten fandom in a forgotten franchise. Quintin Kumar is a teen member of a devoted fan community to a multimedia franchise that has been dead for well over a decade. Quintin's community, known as the Custom Globe Duelist Archive (or the CGDA), is a small, highly niche fanfiction-oriented group. The core of this Globe Duelist franchise is a social webgame that these fans spend more time in than the real world - a game that has virtually bled dry of players. But when Quintin unwittingly sets in motion the rebirth of the community, a new age dawns in the game. A new generation of fans arrive, and a game that has been scantily populated for a decade grinds to life again. With the advent of the internet and fan subculture that fans can connect and communicate in a manner unheard of in history, and where content creators can get feedback in real-time about their products. There are so many fandoms out there, each with their own internal and external drama and conflict, all often over silly matters that the rest of the world couldn't care less about. Yet these fans care so much, and they are so dedicated to their world that they find identity as fans of these franchises or celebrities, and will fight tooth and nail over them.
