At the beginning of the 18th century, king of France exiles two duelists from the state: one to Russia and another to Sweden, which are at war.

''The secret service agent's memories'' is a russian historical film based on the novel by Oleg Ryaskov. It was directed and produced by Oleg Ryaskov in 2010-2011. The world premiere was held at the tv channel Russia 1 in Russion Federation, on June 10, 2011. Also movie was shoved in USA, Canada ( by HULU), Germany, Thailand, Latvia, (1 Baltic channel) Litva, Estonia, (Ren TV Baltia),Ukraine (Channal 1+1), RTR-PLANETA (All world tv channal). It is late 1720s, Russia. Tsar Peter the Great dies and his highly appreciated associate and friend Prince Menshikov rules the country. Those who oppose to the Prince scheme against him. Courier Ivan Samoylov the army officer fails one of the risky tasks given to him to him by court intriguers and honestly confesses this. He is to be punished, but Head of Secret Service likes the officers qualities and make him a secret service courier. From now on he starts a chain of mysterious investigation that involves masons, pirates and grand dukes of the court.

This movie project is an adventure novel about the expedition to Madagascar. The story tells about the adventures of a young man that got into the Office of the Chambers of Secrets and was sent to Madagascar as part of a crew. The expedition was ordered by Peter the Great to bring islands pirates on his side. The film includes all the elements of the genre: sea adventures, love, boarding, chases, and duels. All these components the audience associates with a big epic adventures movie. The genre is a mix of adventure comedy and romance with a historical background. Though seeming incredible, this expedition of Peter the Great to the pirates of Madagascar is a real historical fact. In the second half of the 17th century France and Great Britain were concerned about the pirates in the Caribbean. The concern was so serious that Brethern of the Coast was split in 1684. Many filibusters from Tortuga and Jamaica headed to the Indian Ocean, establishing new pirate republic at Madagascar and Santa-Maria. But the times of filibustering fell into oblivion. France and Great Britain were strictly determined not to allow pirate republic to appear in the territories of their colonial interests. Pirates were captured and hang so intensely that they decided to use already proved way ask for one of the European monarchs protection and favor. Initially their choice was king of Sweden. In 1713 pirates delegacy arrived to Stockholm to ask for protection. Sweden Senate accepted the petition, but suspended its resolution till the returning of Charles VII from the war. In 1718 the pirates reached the Swedes for the second time. Pirates admiral Kaspar Morgan (not to be confused with famous Henry Morgan) himself came up to Charles VII. The king signed patent proving that Morgan would be kings vice at Madagascar. But alas! King Charles was assassinated and Morgan was imprisoned in Great Britain (the British didnt take his Sweden patent seriously) In 1718 diplomatic intelligence from Europe reports to Peter the Great about Charless XII secret Madagascar project. Idea of the expedition to the Indian Ocean correlated to the Russian tsars views and he decided to seize the initiative from his eternal rival Charles. After signing the Treaty of Nystad Peter the Great lured away to his service Sweden admiral Daniel Wilster and captain Narkos. Meanwhile Russian intelligence got documents on Madagascars project from Sweden minister fon Gelken. In the beginning of 1723 according to the Peters order Russian frigates Amsterdam Galley and De kron de Levde strictly confidentially started their way to Madagascar. Admiral Wilster was in charge of guarding the secret and used English and Portuguese flags for camouflage. Captain Myasnov and captain-lieutenant Kiselev were obliged to follow Wilsers orders only after checking with secret instructions that could have been opened only after The Sound strait was crossed. But in the Baltic straits the ships were so damaged by storm that they returned to Revel. The expedition was postponed and after Peter the Greats death in January 1725 it was cancelled. The plot of the movie accurately enrolls the protagonists in this very story internally showing real events that are savored with charismatic characters. In the movie The Kind of Madagascar the plot absolutely coincides with the real history. The ships are indeed worn out by storm. Wilster decides to come to anchor in Revel. But our protagonists (naval officer Andrew Zbruev and ships doctor Ben Andersen) are forced to run away from the ship to fulfill the sovereigns will. In short, the truth is connected according to all the rules of adventurous genre and keeping the realia. The meeting with Olivier Levasseur, the king of Madagascars pirates himself, awaits them.

The story is based on the 18th-century adventures of Ivan Samoilov, sergeant in a Dragoon regiment, who meets Navy officer Plahov. Together they travel to America and rescue their friends from a prison.
