Disney's new animated film "Moana" isn't fit for kids in Italy ... or at least the title isn't because it's synonymous with hardcore porn. Walt Disney has renamed its upcoming animated feature Moana in Italy, calling it Oceania.

The change has most in Italy believing that one of the country’s most beloved porn stars, the late Moana Pozzi, was the reason behind the change. Disney Italia has not yet responded to a query about the name change.

A Disney source in California said only “the studio frequently changes titles in foreign territories for a wide variety of reasons.” Secondhand sources claim the film’s directors confirmed the late porn star’s influence at this year's Annecy Festival.

It looks like Disney is going to be continuing their phenomenal year, both in terms of box office and critical acclaim, with their upcoming animated feature Moana. The movie will be going by a different name, Oceana, in Italy though. Why, may you ask? Well, because Moana was the name of a very famous Italian porn star. You know, that old story.

According to Cartoon Brew, the Disney marketing team in Italy felt compelled to change the name of Moana in the country because of a very famous Adult Film star by the name of Moana Pozzi. She passed away at the age of 33 in 1994, but she still has quite a bit of notoriety, so it seemed like a good idea to change the title to Oceana. Cartoon Brew does note that Disney reps in Italy have yet to offer an official explanation, but this is the theory currently going around.
