Not only has Michael Giacchino contributed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe by composing the scores for such films as Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Thor: Love and Thunder (he did that one with Nami Melumad), and this summer’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps, but he also directed the Disney+ “Special Presentation” Werewolf by Night – and now, Entertainment Weekly reports that Giacchino is returning to the world of Werewolf by Night by writing the one-shot comic book Werewolf by Night: Blood Moon Rise, which pits the werewolf hero Jack Russell against Dracula and is set to reach store shelves on July 30th!
Instead of connecting the comic book to the Werewolf by Night special he directed, Giacchino has crafted a story that’s set during the original run of Jack Russell stories, which Marvel Comics launched back in in 1972. He told Entertainment Weekly,...

I’m all for a little tea and drama, but I’m also a firm believer in reading between the lines. So I was scrolling through TikTok, casually sipping my coffee, when suddenly—Bam! A user drops a bombshell that leaves me spitting out my drink: “Tom Holland cheated on Zendaya with me.” Hold up, did I hear that right? Cheated on Zendaya?
I’ve got more questions than answers at this point. I mean, I’ve been living under the assumption that Zendaya and Holland were the epitome of couple goals—cute, private, and low-key. From their magical chemistry on screen to their off-screen moments that made us all go aww, they were the perfect example of love in the public eye without the messy circus.

David Corenswet’s Superman and Pedro Pascal’s The Fantastic Four are two of the biggest releases of the year. Both films aim for nothing short of a billion dollar in box office revenue from the global market. However, Donald Trump’s tariff policies might put a dent in those plans. China has reportedly come up with retaliatory measures to Trump’s threat to increase the U.S. tariff on Chinese imports.
Trump imposed 54 percent tariffs on all Chinese goods, and China retaliated with a pledge of a 34 percent increase in tariffs to meet the U.S. tariff rates. The U.S. has threatened to impose a 50 percent additional levy, bringing the U.S. tariff on Chinese imports to 104 percent.

Last year, Final Destination 6 (which is going by the title Final Destination: Bloodlines) finally, after years of development and a long year gap between sequels, made its way through production. Franchise producer Craig Perry previously let it be known that the film was aiming for a theatrical release in 2025, in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the original film. It will even be on IMAX screens! It was recently confirmed that Final Destination: Bloodlines is set to reach theatres on May 16, 2025, and a teaser trailer and a full trailer (embedded above) have both been unveiled. Now, Collider has shared an image that gives a preview of a moment that involves someone having trouble with a vending machine, and you can take a look at that image at the bottom of this article.

After eight full weekends in theaters, things are finally slowing down at the box office for Captain America: Brave New World. Anthony Mackie’s big-screen debut as the Star-Spangled Man has earned $199 million at the domestic box office and $213 million internationally for a total of $412 million worldwide. While this is enough to make it one of the three highest-grossing movies of the year globally and the #1 movie domestically, it doesn’t hold up so well against the rest of the MCU. Brave New World has earned less than half the box office total of 17 MCU movies, and it is currently the sixth-lowest-grossing MCU movie ever. Brave New World has passed only The Marvels, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, Black Widow, and Eternals.

Jake Gyllenhaal Ambulance Action Scene ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
“I’ve always had this sort of dream since I was younger to be in a Michael Bay [movie].” And Jake Gyllenhaal finally made it happen with Ambulance. If you ever wondered what it’s like to star in a Bay explosion-fest, Gyllenhaal had been wondering the same thing, since he was a kid.
Ambulance was classic Bay chaos. Two brothers (Gyllenhaal and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) planned a bank heist. It went south. They hijacked an ambulance. Cue the sirens, bullet storms, and high-speed mayhem through L.A., with an injured cop and an Emt (Eiza González) trapped inside. The movie did what Bay movies do – big action, big explosions, and enough plot holes to drive, well, an ambulance through. Critics weren’t exactly in love, but it pulled a decent 67% on Rotten Tomatoes.
For Gyllenhaal, this wasn’t just another role; it was a full-circle moment.

Spider-Man has a long and varied film history. The first Spider-Man movies were recuts of the 1977 TV series "The Amazing Spider-Man," and starred Nicholas Hammond as the title hero, a man who could climb walls and swing through the streets of New York on homemade webs projected from his wrists. In 1978, there was a Japanese Spider-Man film based on the Toei TV series, starring Shinji Tōdō as a robot-controlling version of the hero. Better known to American audiences are the three big-budget Spider-Man blockbusters that Sam Raimi directed between 2002 and 2007. Those films starred Tobey Maguire. Raimi's films were followed by two movies in rebooted continuity called "The Amazing Spider-Man," starring Andrew Garfield. When the second of his films tanked, Sony (who held the films rights to Spider-Man) decided to move away from that continuity and co-produce an even newer version of Spider-Man, folding the character into Disney's already-successful Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The official title has been revealed for the upcoming Spider-Man sequel starring Tom Holland. Serving as the follow-up to Spider-Man: No Way Home, the film is dated for a release on July 31, 2026.
At CinemaCon on Monday (per The Hollywood Reporter), Holland appeared in a video shown to attendees to drop some big news. Holland officially announced that the movie will be called Spider-Man: Brand New Day, marking the first of his four Spidey films that doesn't somehow include the word, "home." Director Destin Daniel Cretton, who was present at CinemaCon, noted of being there for the big announcement, "To say that it’s an honor to be standing on this stage is a pretty big understatement."
Cretton also referred to Spider-Man: Brand New Day as a "ride that we haven't really seen before," though no further hints beyond the title and this description were offered about the plot. However, the...

Tom Hardy was originally cast as Rick Flag in the 2016 version of Suicide Squad, arguably the most detested superhero movie released in the past decade. While Joel Kinnaman was cast in his place, Hardy would star as Eddie Brock in the Venom trilogy, a slightly more favorable superhero antihero befitting of Hardy's gritty nonsense persona.
Although it's amusing to ponder how much better the movie would have fared if Hardy had starred as Rick Flag in the grim and humorless Suicide Squad, the large ensemble cast would have robbed Hardy of the chance to showcase his command of carrying a big blockbuster on his back. While Hardy is likely thrilled to have dodged a Suicide Squad bullet with his name on it, fans will never know how it would have fared with him fighting alongside Joker, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, et al.

Sam Raimi's superhero flick "Spider-Man" was a huge hit when it was released in 2002. It was made for a whopping $132 million (big money at the time), but it ended up grossing over $825 million worldwide, more or less ushering a new age of superhero movies that remained strong all the way through the 2020s. It's easy to see why a story about superheroism in New York would have caught on in the early 2000s; superheroes live in morally simple universes where good and evil are clearly delineated, a stark contrast to the wickedness and chaos of a post-9/11 world. Noble beings with extraordinary powers can now prevent massive acts of terrorism.
Despite the success of "Spider-Man," however, franchise star Tobey Maguire almost stepped away from the role for the 2004 sequel. Maguire had just become a notable Hollywood player with "Spider-Man," as well as with his acclaimed performance in the Oscar-bait horse picture "Seabiscuit,...

The NBC sitcom, Young Sheldon, quickly became a hit, offering a fresh look at the early life of Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory. But here’s a fun twist: while we’re all familiar with Sheldon’s world, there’s one detail that often slips through the cracks. Who directed the pilot episode?
It’s none other than Jon Favreau. Best known for launching the MCU with Iron Man, Favreau’s involvement in Young Sheldon is often overlooked. Marvel Studios kicked off a big day for superhero fans with a surprise live video announcement today. The studio is pulling back the curtain on the cast for its upcoming blockbuster ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ and it’s shaping up to be a massive gathering of talent. With the stream still rolling as I write this, names are dropping steadily, and we’re getting a glimpse of who’ll be suiting up for this next chapter in the MCU.
The announcement comes after months of chatter about what Marvel has in store following a rocky stretch since ‘Avengers: Endgame’ took the world by storm back in 2019. That film was a box office juggernaut, raking in over $2.79 billion worldwide, and it set a high bar.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is approaching another big moment. While the post-"Avengers: Endgame" slate has been a little uneven, the Multiverse Saga has delivered some major developments. And with that, we've also had some significant happenings (or lack thereof) regarding this summer's "Thunderbolts*" spoiled already.

The Multiverse Saga has been quite the journey for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The veteran franchise completed its picture-perfect Infinity Saga with the game-changing Avengers: Endgame (and offered up a prologue in Spider-Man: Far From Home) but it didn't want the story of the MCU to end there. After the billion-dollar hit of "Spider-Man: No Way Home," the fourth Tom Holland-led Spidey movie has been surprisingly slow-moving. But it is in the works, and targeting a July 2026 release date. "Spider-Man 4" recently scored a new female lead in actress Sadie Sink, but what about the movie's big bad?
There's been no confirmed villain and, truthfully, the Spider-Man films have already gone through his major adversaries. "No Way Home" even brought back past villains for a multiversal Sinister Six. That probably cools the chances of us getting a Marvel Cinematic Universe-original Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, etc. for now.
Kraven the Hunter has been the perennial "they'll definitely do him in the next movie" pick since back when Andrew Garfield was still going to get his "Amazing Spider-Man 3." But Sony instead chose to make a (terrible) "Kraven the Hunter" solo movie, so I doubt they'll want to drag him out again so soon.

Samuel L. Jackson recalled some priceless advice he received from Bruce Willis while they were shooting Die Hard With A Vengeance in 1994.
“He told me, ‘Hopefully you’ll be able to find a character that, when you make bad movies and they don’t make any money, you can always go back to this character everybody loves,” Jackson shared in an interview with Vanity Fair celebrating Willis’ 70th birthday . “He said, ‘Arnold’s got Terminator. While the Disney/Fox merger saw the rights to the X-Men and Fantastic Four return to Marvel Studios, Spider-Man is still only on loan from Sony Pictures.

Last year, Final Destination 6 (which is going by the title Final Destination: Bloodlines) finally, after years of development and a long year gap between sequels, made its way through production. Earlier this week, we learned that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink has joined the cast of Spider-Man 4. Given her red hair, it didn't take long for fans (and scoopers) to speculate that she might be playing everyone from Jean Grey to Firestar and Mary Jane Watson.
However, a new report from Jeff Sneider claims Sink will play the latter, meaning the Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon have the "real" Mj. That seems problematic on several levels, not least because it diminishes the work done by Zendaya as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home's Michelle Jones Watson.
There is one way to make this work, though.
With Spider-Man 4 set to be released between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it will almost certainly be a Multiversal tale. In fact, if Doomsday ends with the creation of Battleworld, chances are that's where Peter Parker's...

Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will join Tom Holland in the fourth Spider-Man film.
Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is helming the movie that is currently untitled. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna penned the screenplay.
The plot for the fourth Spider-Man is being kept under wraps, with the last film, No Way Home, ending with the world forgetting that teenager Peter Parker was Spider-Man, including Mj (Zendaya). It is unclear who Sink will play in the film.
Holland teased the fourth film last year during a stop on Good Morning America, saying, “The idea is crazy. It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it.”
Sony Pictures has set a theatrical release for July 31, 2026.

Jake Gyllenhallhas had a fair number of hits in his career. His highest-grossing movie as an actor is Spider-Man: Far From Home, wherein he played the villain, Mysterio. This film is the actor's only movie to gross over $1 billion, coming in at $1.13 billion. Beyond his MCU stint, however, Gyllenhaal has had a number of other successful titles. The disaster thriller The Day After Tomorrow, for example, made over $555 million at the box office, and 2010's Prince of Persia: Sands of Time brought in $336.3 million.
Gyllenhaal has also starred in several dramas by award-winning directors. This includes Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain, which earned the actor his first and only Oscar nomination. He has also worked with Bong Joon Ho on Okja, where he played the wacky Dr. Johnny Wilcox. Gyllenhaal has also been nominated for three Golden Globes for the movies Love & Other Drugs and Nightcrawler and the TV show Presumed Innocent.

If there’s one thing most Marvel fans can agree on, it’s the impeccable casting of Charlie Cox as Daredevil/Matt Murdock. Like Christopher Reeve, Robert Downey Jr., and Hugh Jackman before him, Cox's name is synonymous with superhero excellence; few actors have inhabited the tormented skin of their comic book counterparts with more authenticity, passion, or pathos. To the joy of casual and aficionado fans alike, that casting coup didn't go quietly into the night following Netflix's cancellation of the original Daredevil series in 2018. Between the recently premiered Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ as well as Murdock's cameos in Spider-Man: Far From Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Cox has now been playing the Devil of Hell's Kitchen for over a decade.

It began with 2008’s “Iron Man,” a film that introduced the world to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark with the hint that he could be part of something greater. Over 30 films later, the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still being told, albeit with various tributaries and detours that introduce new characters and new worlds that may or may not cross paths one day. Each film in the MCU stands on its own to some degree, but like building blocks, they all connect as part of one interconnected universe. And in that way, watching the Marvel movies in order tells one grand story.

End of Watch was a gritty and realistic cop thriller that became a critical and box office hit when it was released in 2012. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal as Brian Taylor and Michael Peña as Mike Zavala, the film features the two LAPD partners as they work in South Central Los Angeles. Written and directed by David Ayer, the movie really shows the bond between the two young officers. It's now getting a second life on Max where it sits at number five in the top 10 and even climbed as high as the number two spot.
The movie follows Taylor and Peña as they perform their duties and things take a turn when a cartel targets them. Ayer grew up in South Central L.A. and has written several films about corrupt officers working at the LAPD. But for End of Watch, he wanted to showcase two honest and dedicated officers. Hauling in a jaw-dropping 2.8 billion dollars, Marvel's superhero blockbuster Avengers: Endgame is one of the highest-grossing films of all time and will likely remain in the top ten for decades to come. Beyond this staggering commercial success, the film is also a huge hit with critics and fans alike, posting an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 94% and a Popcornmeter score of 90%. However, in the years since the Marvel Cinematic Universe's historic success, critics have soured on the franchise, and box offices have floundered.
Avengers: Endgame was the culmination of eleven years of storytelling across over a dozen films — the definitive end to a chapter, as its name suggests. As such, there was little chance of Marvel's next entries echoing its level of success. However, the studio has been fumbling to find any footing. Despite their efforts, they can't build up momentum for their next Phase, largely due to some key missteps.

Spider-Man 4's release date has officially been bumped. However, the delay that the movie now faces is a minuscule change, which means superhero fans will only have to wait one extra week until Tom Holland returns to the big screen as Peter Parker and his webslinging alter ego. Making the shift means the Sony/Marvel flick is swinging away from some pretty stiff competition, which has summer blockbuster aspirations of its own. So, the move shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, particularly to movie lovers, and those executives behind the No Way Home sequel undoubtedly must have felt their collective Spider-Senses tingling. Somehow, it took Rocky and Rambo star Sylvester Stallone a long time to play a full-on superhero (his roles in Judge Dredd and Guardians of the Galaxy don’t count). But, when he finally did don a costume and possess superpowers, it resulted in the deeply divisive Samaritan, which is now all set to stream free.
Released back in 2022, Samaritan begins when thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith is actually a superhero legend hiding in plain sight. Directed by Julius Avery, Samaritan stars Sylvester Stallone alongside The Umbrella Academy star Javon Walton as Sam Cleary, as well as Martin Starr (Spider-Man: Far From Home), Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), Dascha Polanco (In the Heights), Natacha Karam (The Old Guard), and Pilou Asbæk (Game of Thrones). Samaritan is due to land on Tubi on March 1, and you can check out the official synopsis below.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 is going to take slightly longer to swing into theaters.
Sony Pictures announced Friday that the Marvel superhero’s next feature is now set for theatrical release on July 31, 2026, a week later than previously scheduled. Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) is helming the movie that is currently untitled.
This change gives the project extra distance from the release of director Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which also stars Holland and hits theaters July 17, 2026. Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson and Charlize Theron round out the star-studded cast for Universal’s feature adaptation of Homer’s epic poem.
Also currently set for release on July 31, 2026, is Paramount’s animated feature Paw Patrol 3.
Holland was last seen onscreen as the heroic web-slinger in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which surpassed $1.9 billion at the global box office.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Manhas swung onto Disney+ and recently released its two-episode finale on Feb. 19, 2025. The first of Marvel's ambitious 2025 slate, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, explores a new take on the popular hero origin story by drawing heavily from what audiences know/associate with the MCU incarnation but putting their spin on the material. It's a new "What If" for Spider-Man and Marvel that isn't actually What If...?.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is filled with Easter eggs and references to Marvel Comics, past incarnations of Spider-Man, and the MCU. From a catchy opening title song that captures many different eras of Spider-Man to much of the series' supporting cast being drawn from all over the Marvel Universe, there are plenty of fun references for fans as well as potential clues for where this series might be heading. Here are the biggest Easter eggs and references in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
