From the very first moments, we enter the intimacy of its characters, which is full of friction, secrets, desires and frustrations, especially for three of them in a love triangle: Román, Isabel and Óscar. This story of (dis)love is devoid of any moral prejudice: If Isabel broke up with Romain, it was not because he slept with another boy, but because he broke their monogamous agreement.
There are no prejudices and there is no criticism of the sexual orientations of the characters. We therefore find ourselves with gay, lesbian, bisexual or pansexual characters.
Teenagers who explore and conquer unknown facets of their sexuality and feelings, and if these young people are sometimes reluctant to explore these facets at first, it is not for fear of a family or social moral judgment, but because they have an incomplete vision of themselves and the world.
The film therefore fully deserves its LGBTQIA+ status and assumes its "queer" nature and sexual fluidity.
And although the love/sexual triangle is the one that has taken center stage since the beginning, the script also presents the other characters through a series of scenes that allow the filmmaker to explore other aspects of adolescence such as first unrequited love, disappointment, frustration, the eternal search for a sense of belonging and uncertainty about the future.
A very fluid coming out age film and a solid and tender cinematographic exercise. A sort of homage to those days of leaving adolescence which were often "special days" for us (original title).
