Jay North, the former child star who became a household name in the 1950s, has died at age 73. North is best known for portraying Dennis Mitchell in the 1959 sitcom Dennis the Menace. His co-star, Jeannie Russell, who played Margaret Wade, confirmed the news of his passing to The Hollywood Reporter. The former actor died in Lake Butler, Florida, on April 6, 2025, following a battle with colon cancer. According to TV Line, North's character, Dennis, might've had heart eyes for Russell's character, Margaret, but off-screen, to Russell, he was her "otherwordly brother." Exclusive: Masked country music star Orville Peck and two-time Tony Award nominee Eva Noblezada are set as the new Emcee and Sally Bowles of Broadway’s Cabaret at the KitKat Club, producers announced today.

Peck, making his Broadway debut, and Noblezada will play a limited 16-week engagement at the August Wilson Theatre starting Monday, March 31, through Sunday, July 20. They’ll take over for Adam Lambert and Auli‘i Cravalho who, as previously announced, will play their final performances on Saturday evening, March 29.

Casting for the two roles after Sunday, July 20, will be announced this summer. Today’s announcement was made by producers Adam Speers for Atg Productions, Underbelly, Gavin Kalin Productions, Hunter Arnold, Smith & Brant Theatricals, and Wessex Grove.

Orville Peck has mapped out the “Stampede Tour,” a North American trek that takes place throughout summer and fall of 2024.

The “Stampede Tour” kicks off on May 28th with a date in Asheville, North Carolina, continuing on through June with dates in Charlotte, Atlanta, Cleveland, Chicago, Washington D.C., and more. The tour continues through July, August, and September, hitting cities like Toronto, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles along the way.

It’s highly unlikely anyone can say they got their start in showbiz by drinking kombucha — anyone that is, except Brittany Broksi.

Orville Peck has scheduled a collection of tour dates for summer 2023 in support of his second studio album Bronco, released last year.

The Bronco tour will begin on June 20 with an opening show at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York and will conclude on Aug. 10 at The Bridge at Santa Fe Brewing Company in New Mexico. Peck will also be making stops in Columbus, Cleveland, Asbury Park, Indianapolis, Omaha, Kansas City, and more on his 11-date run.

William Reynolds, who portrayed crime-stopping Special Agent Tom Colby opposite Efrem Zimbalist Jr. on the final seven seasons of the ABC crime drama The F.B.I., has died. He was 90.

Reynolds died Wednesday in Wildomar, California, from non-covid 19 complicated pneumonia, a family spokesperson announced.

The Los Angeles native also starred in three other series, all short-lived: as the trumpet player on the 1959 NBC drama Pete Kelly’s Blues, created by Jack Webb; on ABC’s The Islanders, a 1960-61 adventure show set in the East Indies; and on the World War II-set The Gallant Men, which ran on ABC from 1962-63.

In 1960, Reynolds memorably played a WWII officer who can’t ignore an ominous light on the faces of his men destined to be killed in the acclaimed Twilight Zone season-one episode “The Purple Testament.”

He began his career under contract to Universal Pictures and had credits in Carrie (1952) as Laurence Olivier’s son and The Son of Ali Baba where he was Tony Curtis’ best friend. For 20th Century Fox, he portrayed Rommel’s son opposite James Mason in The Desert Fox.

Jered Barclay, the veteran stage and screen actor who performed in vaudeville and had voiceover roles in TV’s Smurfs and Transformers, has died. He was 91.

Barclay died Saturday in North Hollywood from Mds Leukemia, actress Myra Turley, his longtime friend with whom he performed in the two-person play A Tantalizing, directed by Harvey Perr, announced.

Also a director, photojournalist and acting coach, Barclay began his nine-decade career in 1934 at age 3, performing in vaudeville with Judy Garland, Shirley Temple and Sammy Davis Jr. At 6, he became a radio actor and at 12 traveled with the Clyde Beatty Circus before his theatrical debut at 14.

Hulu has released the trailer for John Bronco. Walton Goggins stars as John Bronco, the greatest pitchman to ever live. The mockumentary is all set to premiere October 15th, exclusively on Hulu. The trailer has Goggins cranked up to eleven as a Burt Reynolds mixed with a used car salesman-type of character as he goes around racing cars, riding horses, and creating products with his face on them.

Some have said that if you were famous before the internet, you might as well never have existed. Such is the case for John Bronco, the greatest pitchman who ever lived. In 1966, Ford tapped him to race their new prototype SUV at the Baja 500 in Mexico. Not only did he win, but he gave a rousing speech that rallied a nation. Legend has it that Ford named the new car "Bronco" after John, made him the face of their campaign and skyrocketed him to stardom.

You may not know this, but the Ford Bronco, one of the most iconic SUVs in the history of automobiles wasn’t actually named for a horse. Nope. Ford Motor Co. and the Walt Disney Co. have made a precedent-setting deal for a “roadblock” across all of Disney’s broadcast, cable, digital and streaming channels in prime time to unveil the new Bronco.

On July 13, starting at 8Pm Et, Ford will introduce the new Bronco lineup across Disney platforms. Three custom, 3-minute films will air on ABC, ESPN and National Geographic, in each network’s first commercial break. All three pieces will be made available on demand on Hulu the next day.

Hardin died Thursday in Huntington Beach, Calif. His wife, Carolyn Pampu Hardin, told The Associated Press he had been "in failing health."

When Cheyenne star Clint Walker left his show in a contract dispute, executives at Warner Bros. cast Hardin as Bronco Layne to keep the series going. Hardin was given his own Western after Walker returned, and Bronco debuted in September 1958, sticking around for four seasons though April 1962.
