Seizoku: Sex Jack

A small group, part of larger young communist radicals after a demonstration with violence takes refuge & hides out in the room of a young stranger. While the group takes many turns having sex with their female cohort, the stranger does not. He does leave each day to return with food, drinks & a newspaper for the group.

This is a Pink Eiga film so there is nudity & sex scenes. None of the sex scenes are explicit or erotic. I found them more of a distraction tho they did have a small contribution to the story.

This drama script is limited but the direction by Koji Wakamatsu who I am a fan of, really is masterful. Some things that happen in the story are not shown onscreen probably from budget constraints, yet are told as an integral part of the story. I actually preferred this way. One of those things Pink Eiga does better than Hollywood blockbusters.

The acting was good although no one was outstanding. One fight scene was poorly choreographed and one star deducted from my rating for it. My DVD had 2 brief periods (like single reels) in two points that appeared in color. No idea if this was originally intentional as filmed or the only surviving color footage.

This is one of the better, if not best Pink Eigas. Many of my favorites were directed by Koji Wakamatsu. Highly recommended.
