Terrific Ronet eight years after LE FEU FOLLET

How to forget LE FEU FOLLET where Maurice Ronet was so brilliant, so awesome, the portrait of a self destructive man, in search of a meaning to live in an empty existence, a man unaware of the harm that he provided around him? Yes, definitely yes, in both films, Ronet is more or less the same character, certainly not on the form - because here, Ronet is not the gloomy character as in LE FEU FOLLET - but if you consider the result, the deep deep character.... For the director Michel Deville, it is a turn in his career, after some bad comedies, he now tried something else in the drama genre. He will proceed with DOSSIER 51. Another kind of film, nothing to do with this one. RAPHAEL...can also be seen as a vitriolic portrait on France in the early 1800's, but focused of a specific category of people.
