Lim Seung-hyeun was educated at the Graduate School of Cinematic Content at Dankook University. His short film For Elise (2018) was screened at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. His first feature, Homeless (2020), is about the terrible housing situation in Korea. According to a Korea Statistics report in 2018, 22.6 percent of youths living alone suffer from poor housing, and in Seoul the number escalates to 37.2 percent due to the high cost of living. During his own youth, filmmaker Lim was no stranger to this problem. The film won the Cgv Arthouse Award at the 21st Jeonju International Film Festival.
On the occasion of “Homeless” screening at International Film Festival Rotterdam, we speak with him about the experience of being homeless and the overall issue in Seoul, elderly people, the cinematography and the casting of the film and many other topics.

Many films, particularly in the indie industry, are rather personal for their makers. “Homeless” however, goes a step beyond, since the director himself was actually homeless for a time during high school, while his co-writer, Kim Seung-hyeun experienced a similar situation with the one in the movie with his grandmother who was living by herself, away from her family.

Chile’s animation industry has gone from nearly non-existent to one of the most highly regarded and best exported in Latin America in just two decades.
For the third consecutive year, a Chilean feature is in competition at Annecy, and in 2016 “Bear Story” became the first-ever Chilean film to win an Oscar, taking home the award for best animated short.
So how did the Andean country go from bust to boom so quickly? As is often the case in modern-day Chile, when attempting to explain any cultural phenomena the first place to look is at the two brutal decades in which dictator Augusto Pinochet reigned over the country. It is through that lens that the roots of Chile’s current animation industry first become clear.

When Marvel Studios announced their huge rescheduling of Phase Four due to the uncertainty created by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Spider-Man 3 was conspicuous by its absence. The third solo outing for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker currently remains set for July 2021, although that could well be subject to change, with shooting still tentatively slated to begin in July of this year.
For a high-profile project that’s reportedly less than three months away from getting underway, we haven’t heard even the slightest hint of plot details, or any new additions to the cast, which is strange for a big budget McU sequel. Not to mention that Far From Home ended on the cliffhanger that Spidey’s secret identity had been revealed to the world, which is presumably going to act as the driving force of the plot.

Mary Steenburgen is known for her decades of work as an actor, picking up an Oscar and a Golden Globe for her turn in “Melvin and Howard.” But she woke up from a minor surgery on her arm in 2007 feeling “very strange.” “My old brain wasn’t really the same anymore,” she explains, adding, “It was replaced by a musical brain.” That fateful event opened up a new career path for Steenburgen as a songwriter, and her country tune “Glasgow” provides a glorious closing moment to the film “Wild Rose.” And this weekend, she received a Critics’ Choice nomination for Best Original Song. Watch the exclusive video interview above.
Steenburgen’s “new musical brain” had her hearing music in her head constantly, despite not having a musical background. Every experience generated music. Instead of allowing this startling change drive her crazy, the Oscar winner decided to find a way to incorporate it into her life.

Italy’s Leone Film Group, the company founded by Spaghetti Western master Sergio Leone, has been on a roaring roll since 2012.
That’s when his children, Raffaella and Andrea, who now run the company, spotted a theatrical distribution gap left open by Medusa and Rai Cinema and stepped in to swiftly sign an output deal with DreamWorks. This, in turn, propelled its expansion.
The two Leone siblings hadn’t been idle before then. They were already among the top distributors of TV movies in Italy, having delved into that market in 1989, the year their father founded the company. That was also the year that Leone Sr. died.
In those days, driven by Silvio Berlusconi’s Mediaset, Italian TV was flourishing, recalls Andrea. “For us, movies are a passion; but at the same time they are business,” he says. During that period, “there was serious opportunity to do business in that segment.

And now we finally get to the best one of all. The true peak of Buffy. The Season where it truly was at its finest hour.
After a shaky Season Four, Buffy returned in style for its fifth season, constructing 22 episodes full of strong characters, a brilliant arc, heartbreaking moments and some of the best hours that the show ever produced. Whilst all the previous Seasons of Buffy had numerous good qualities, it’s fifth just seemed to have everything. From the intense, gripping story-arc of Season Two, to the consistently brilliant episodes of Season Three, to the superb stand-alone hours of Season Four, Season Five is an example of a show at full throttle. It’s brimming with confidence, it knows exactly where it’s taking the story – and explores new routes for our characters that we didn’t even think we’d see.
So, what makes Season Five so great?...

With the next “super season” set to commence in just under three weeks, it’s only understandable that The CW pulls out all the stops in order to assure that viewers come back for another helping. And usually when we’re that close to any specific episode airing, synopses are bound to surface online, effectively bringing some minor spoilers along with them. In this case, that rule applies to fan favorites Legends Of Tomorrow and Arrow.
First, let’s talk about Legends of Tomorrow because it’ll be the first of these two shows to air. In “Aruba-Con,” we’ll see the Waverider crew bereft of the ship they call home and, apparently, carrying on with life in this broken timeline. Seriously, with dinosaurs running amok in the streets and Julius Caesar being a beach bully, I’m not sure if I’d be able to even sleep, so how do they manage?...

Right now, I have a love/hate relationship going on with Emerald City.
If the series ends with Emerald City Season 1 Episode 10, I will not be a happy camper. Not just because I've enjoyed the series and want to see a second season, but also because there were too many questions left unanswered.
Sorry, David Schulner and Shaun Cassidy. The story isn't complete.
The best part about the entire Emerald City series was West and Tip. There was nothing that could compare to their chemistry and camaraderie. They were perfect together.
I loved how they each looked out for one another, like a mother and daughter. It was beautiful to watch.
It's just too bad Tip had to give up who he really wanted to be to fulfill his destiny. Once he put on that crown, Tip was no more.
I was sort of torn about what Ozma did to Eamonn.

In the season 1 finale of Emerald City, "No Place Like Home," Dorothy finds herself fighting the Wizard and Glinda, West and Ozma return to Emerald City and The Beast Forever arrives in Oz.
The Wizard, presumably released thanks to Dorothy's arrival, rides out to his camp to find many of his men have fled and Dorothy waiting for him. She informs him that Nahara raised the soldier and accuses him of keeping the witch imprisoned so he could use her magic whenever he wished. He admits he used Nahara's village as leverage, and Dorothy informs him of the leverage she had to get Nahara to risk his ire; that she would save Oz and stop a war.

Two of our favorite artists have taken to SoundCloud today to tease us with previews of their upcoming tracks. Both Oliver Heldens and Blasterjaxx have new songs releasing in the next few weeks and now, we can get a taste of what they’ve got in store for us.
First up is Heldens, whose rise to fame over the past 6-12 months has been truly astonishing. He continues to impress with each release and with his new track, “Melody,” he looks to do the same. Less a groovy dance track and more a dark anthem, the song is a bit of a departure from stuff like “Koala” and “Gecko,” though it still does have some of the producer’s signature elements. Overall, it’s a welcome and refreshing change for Heldens and will be perfect for his main stage performances during the upcoming summer festival season.

But, why? Then again, ours is not to reason why. Ours is just to feast our eyes! Nashville star Oliver Hudson opted to show off his tush - and his tan lines - on Instagram on Sunday. The actor was photographed on a San Francisco-area hillside with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. "No place like home," he wrote, along with the hashtag #notanlines. Besides receiving lots of positive feedback from his followers, the pic drew an instant reaction from sister Kate Hudson. "Is this really necessary?" she asked via Instagram. A lot of his fans seemed to respond with a hearty "yes.

Things might get a little awkward if you see your brother's butt on Instagram, but Kate Hudson took it in stride. It all started when Oliver Hudson posted a completely nude picture of his backside while he was overlooking a mountaintop on Sunday. "No place like home... #notanlines," he captioned the snap. It didn't take long for Kate to notice and comment on the photo, writing, "Is this really necessary?" Kate seemingly knew it was only a matter of time until Oliver posted something ridiculous, as she gave the public a warning after her brother joined the social media site. "I would like to take a moment to introduce my big brother @theoliverhudson to Instagram," she wrote in a post on Jan. 9. "I apologize for him in advance... If you're into chest hair selfies and golfing pics, he's your guy. Happy he has taken the leap to Instagram and I...

With the TV upfronts next week, the major networks are clearing house in time for the arrival of the new kids.
Following their series pickup of "Gotham" earlier this week, Fox has also given series orders for two more new dramas. One is the hospital set, Octavia Spencer-led, coming-of-age dramedy "Red Band Society".
The other is the hip-hop dynasty drama "Empire" with "Hustle and Flow" stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson re-teaming on the project.
The three new shows are coming at the cost of four others. The remake of the Aussie legal dramedy "Rake" and a trio freshman comedies "Dads," "Enlisted" and "Surviving Jack" have all been cancelled.
The axings follow in the wake of Fox's recent "Almost Human" cancellation. The network has also confirmed it will not be picking up new comedy pilots "Fatrick," "Dead Boss" and "No Place Like Home" to series.

“Rake” got the rake: the Greg Kinnear series was the fourth Fox show canceled on Wednesday. While Fox would not confirm that the show was canceled, an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap that two of the leads have been let out of their contracts, signaling the cancelation. Also read: ‘Dads,’ ‘Enlisted’ and ‘Surviving Jack’ Canceled by Fox The legal drama was cut shortly after after the cancelation of “Dads,” “Enlisted” and “Surviving Jack.” Earlier, the network also passed on comedy pilots “No Place Like Home,” “Fatrick” and “Dead Boss.” There has yet to be a decision made on the future of comedies.

Fresh off last night’s drama pilot pick-up news from Fox, the network has announced a trio of cancellations along with news of pilots that it will be passing on (via THR). Briefly: Enlisted – The freshman comedy series revolving around a Rear Detachment unit has been canceled. The show hailed from Cougar Town producer Kevin Biegel and garnered positive reviews, but it failed to build an audience on Friday nights after its midseason debut. Dads – In a slightly surprising move, executive producer Seth MacFarlane’s live-action multi-cam comedy starring Giovanni Ribisi and Seth Green has been given the ax. Though the show never caught on like MacFarlane’s animated shows, some thought Fox might give it a pass given how lucrative MacFarlane has been for the network. Surviving Jack – The shortest-lived series of the bunch, this Christopher Meloni-fronted comedy only debuted at the end of March but is being canceled after six episodes.

R.I.P. Dads, Enlisted, and Surviving Jack: Fox has confirmed that it won’t be ordering second seasons of any of those three first-year comedies. The network is also not moving forward with three comedies for which it had filmed pilots: Fatrick, Dead Boss, and writer Ricky Blitt’s No Place Like Home. But back to the cancellations. The death of Enlisted is not all shocking, give the network’s decision to bury season one on Fridays (and the resulting low ratings.) There had been some speculation that Fox execs were giving the show a serious second look, but as of now, it’s dead at Fox. Studio 20th Century Fox TV is expected to try to sell the series elsewhere. Meanwhile, Fox chief Kevin Reilly seemed to be laying the groundwork for a second year of Dads, telling Vulture and other outlets that he believed in multi-camera comedies...

Fox cleaned the comedy deck today, pulling the plug on freshman series Dads, Enlisted and Surviving Jack and passing on half-hour pilots Fatrick, Dead Boss and No Place Like Home. The two Fox comedy pilots that had been considered strongest, Sober Companion and Cabot College, remain in contention as Fox is said to be mulling a change in its comedy strategy for next season, likely abandoning the two-hour comedy block, which had been struggling mightily. On the hourlong side, there will be no second season for Rake though it has not been officially cancelled. Related: Fox Ups Order For Multi-Camera Comedy ‘Mulaney’ To 16 Episodes, May Be Done With Comedy Pickups The cancellation of Dads, Enlisted and Surviving Jack leaves Brooklyn Nine-Nine as the only freshman Fox comedy to make it to a second season. There had been talk as recently as several days ago about Dads possibly getting a reprieve.

Fox brought down the humor hammer on Wednesday, canceling “Dads,” “Enlisted” and “Surviving Jack” in one fell swoop. Additionally, the network passed on comedy pilots “No Place Like Home,” “Fatrick” and “Dead Boss.” Discussion continues around remaining pilots “Sober Companion” and “Cabot College,” the network said. ”Sober Companion” stars Justin Long and Nick Frost, “Cabot College” is produced by Tina Fey. It feels like we’ve only just gotten started with Once Upon a Time’s second half of the season, but already we’re being teased about the season finale. Given the theme of Wizard of the Oz, it shouldn’t be surprising if the finale is heavily fixated on the source material, at least in terms of its title. Making those references is part of the fun of Once and an opportunity should never be passed up. For Season 3’s finale, Adam Horowitz posted a picture of the script, which bears the title “There’s No Place Like Home.” I don’t know for sure, but I’m hoping the Once gang will be heading off to Oz so someone can utter these famous phrase.

Now that Miss Robichaux’s Academy is closed for business after a season which played out like the bastard offspring of Dennis Wheatley and Jacqueline Susann, American Horror Story fanatics are already filled with a giddy sense of anticipation at what demented devilry the show’s creators will serve up when the fourth season rolls around in the fall.
The kind of creative risks and innovative storytelling displayed in American Horror Story might well have proven the kiss of death for a show in less capable hands. Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk cunningly side-stepped this by utilizing an anything-goes format and taking a familiar core concept (i.e. haunted house, institution, witches coven) in a refreshingly bold direction where nothing is outside the realm of possibility (and in many instances: of plausibility) and absolutely nothing is sacred.
So it begs the question: where will they go next? We know that...

There’s No Place Like Home; Macdonald Pulled By Too Many Strings
This polished as his docu-work, Kevin Macdonald’s fourth fiction feature is a little bit of a head-scratcher. As a war film set in the near future, where the enemy is unknown and adolescents must adapt to their war-torn environment without any adults to guide them, it succeeds. As a sweeping star-crossed love story wherein its teenaged heroine is guided by a telepathic passionate connection to her heart’s desire and must find a path back to him, it also succeeds. The key drawback with How I Live Now, however, is that it so desperately yearns to be both, and flails as a result.
Following the blockbuster success of the Twilight franchise, studios ravenously picked up the film rights to every mildly successful dystopian teen novel ranging from the Hunger Games trilogy to the upcoming Divergent series. Last spring,...

I have seen “The Wizard of Oz” at least 26 times. I have watched it in movie theatres, on television, on tape, on DVD, on Blu-Ray, after talking about the movie to 1000 people in Sacramento, and twice in 16 millimeter on my living room wall when I was writing “The Making of the Wizard of Oz: Movie Magic and Studio Power in the Prime of MGM” 35 years after the movie was made. When “The Wizard of Oz” was made, in 1938 and 1939, my mother worked in the wardrobe department at M-g-m. With the launch around the corner, we look at Sony's upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusives and when we can expect them to arrive...
Recently we've looked at the exclusive launch line ups of the PS4 and Xbox One, with our thoughts on which of the two is the stronger. However, that's just the beginning, and soon enough both platforms will have their own fleshed out exclusive line ups, with each attempting to make the competition green with envy. Of course, these exclusives will make their respective console owners happy, but another reason these titles exist is to attract new owners, and to tempt others to jump ship.
So, what can we expect from next gen exclusives? What titles are incoming and when are we likely to get our sweaty mitts on them? Let's take a look, today focusing on the PS4, which has a lot of exclusive content upcoming.

Kristen had lunch with a girlfriend at There’s No Place Like Home restaurant in Los Feliz, Calif. on August 13. She was wearing a black tank top, black skinny jeans and yellow sneakers.
Wearing no makeup, Kristen slipped on sunglasses as she exited her car.
Her hair was flipped to one side, her natural waves flowing in the wind. Her ombre color looked pretty against her pale skin.
