Farscape's 10 Best Characters, Ranked
Image
All four seasons of Farscape are filled with colorful and compelling characters, but certain figures stand out among the rest in the sprawling fictitious universe. Running between 1999 and 2003, Farscape was one of the most underappreciated sci-fi shows but is still championed by its devoted fan base. Farscape put a fresh spin on overused sci-fi tropes while also staying true to its space opera label. Although there were several reasons the show is so enjoyable, the chemistry that exists between the various members of the Farscape cast is one of the biggest factors.

Farscape centers around Ben Browder's John Crichton, an astronaut who has been flung to a distant part of space and stranded there. The show chronicles Crichton's attempts to return to Earth, but the task is very often shelved in favor of trying to survive alongside his newfound family. The show is a co-production between various studios, one...

Marvel Just Gifted Iron Man's Company a New Name, And It Is Going to Give Tony Stark Nightmares
Image
Warning: Contains Spoilers for Iron Man (2024)

Iron Man has had almost everything he holds dear taken away from him; although he gained it back with great effort, he's about to be deprived of control of his company once more. During the Fall of X, Tony Stark lost his company in a hostile corporate takeover, led by members of mutant-hating organization Orchis. Now, Stark Unlimited is being usurped once more, this time by the Roxxon Corporation.

Iron Man #3 – written by Spencer Ackerman, with art by Julius Ohta – is the final installment of the “Stark-Roxxon War.” Since regaining Stark Unlimited, Tony has been combating the company board’s decision to merge his company with Roxxon and A.I.M.

Despite the many years of villainy that have defined both Roxxon and A.I.M., the board agrees to go through with the sale. Soon, all three companies will be unified, cornering the world’s energy and weapons markets,...

Tony Stark Answers Iron Man vs. Magneto, Proving There’s Only 1 Possible Winner
Image
Iron Man's past victory over Magneto was a hollow one, as he knows he would not win in a rematch without specialized armor. Magneto remains a strong presence in Tony's mind, manifesting in nightmares and passing judgment on him. Despite their rivalry, Iron Man and Magneto are fighting on the same side against Orchis, putting their differences aside.

Warning: Contains spoilers for Invincible Iron Man #17!!Iron Man and Magneto are two of Marvel's biggest names, and both men have undergone epic personal journeys. They’ve come a long way from Tony Stark’s weapons-dealing past and Max’s days as an X-Men villain. Yet a certain rivalry exists between the two of them, even as the fight against Orchis opens a new chapter in their history, and Iron Man’s waking nightmare proves that Magneto would be the victor.

Iron Man Robert Downey Jr Once Admitted He Could Relate To Tony Stark A Lot (Photo Credit – IMDb)

Robert Downey Jr became a household name because of his role as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, in the MCU. In the comics and in the movies, especially the first one, we saw the character’s obnoxious side. Rdj, who is notorious for his past and the substance abuse and misconduct, once, in an interview, admitted relating to Tony’s character because of that. Keep scrolling for more.

Downey has come a long way and is a true inspiration for those looking for a second chance or getting one. He got arrested several times and is now an Oscar-winning actor and one of the highest paid in Hollywood. Rdj is a brand, and the MCU plays a significant role in that. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Episode #15 Release Date & Time
Image
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End episode #15 will focus on deeper relationships and character development. The series takes a unique approach by prioritizing quieter character moments over an overarching plot. Fans can expect beautiful animation, great character moments, and an unpredictable storyline in every episode.

Frieren and her friends are growing closer together on their journey through the North, and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End episode #15 promises to continue that development. While there are big potential threats on the horizon, such as Frieren's fascinating demonic villains, the series seems content to focus on quieter character moments instead of an overarching plot. This approach is part of what makes it so unique and refreshing to watch.

10 Worst MCU Phase 1-3 Jokes That Still Have Us Cringing
Image
Some early jokes in the MCU movies haven't aged well and can ruin certain scenes. Certain jokes, like the one about Black Widow and Hulk, were inappropriate and didn't fit with the overall tone of the film. Some jokes, like the Taserface joke, went on for too long and became tiresome.

The MCU is packed full of memorable jokes, but a few from the franchise's early phases have only gotten worse with time. Though the franchise has had serious projects sprinkled across its releases, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has had deep roots in comedy since Robert Downey Jr. presented a bold and snarky take on Tony Stark in 2008's Iron Man. Since then, everyone from Thor to Captain Marvel has had at least a few good zingers.

Though Marvel Studios has occasionally been criticized for undermining serious moments with unneeded humor, the cinematic universe overall has done well with comedy.

Thor's Hammer Knows The Future: Wild Avengers Theory Explains Confusing Age Of Ultron Scene
Image
Marvel Studios has yet to explain Captain America's ability to slightly move Mjölnir in Avengers: Age of Ultron, despite being worthy of wielding it in Avengers: Endgame. A popular theory suggests that Captain America was already almost worthy in Age of Ultron, and his worthiness was fully realized after coming clean about Bucky's involvement in Civil War. That being said, a better theory proposes that Thor's hammer knew of Steve's future actions in Endgame and deemed him worthy based on his character, allowing him to move it in Age of Ultron.

One theory suggests that the events of Avengers: Endgame can explain how Captain America was already worthy in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Despite being widely considered the least favorite Avengers film to date, Marvel Studios has been able to redeem the film in the years following its release. Wanda and Vision's romance was paid off in...

X-Men's Fall of X Kicks Off In Dramatic Fashion in Hellfire Gala Trailer

An exciting and terrifying new trailer for X-Men: Hellfire Gala 2023 #1 released by Marvel firmly sets the stage for disaster to usher in the Fall of X at Krakoa's fashion-forward party of the year.

Miles Morales Gets Official Iron Spider Suit to Fight Carnage
Image
Miles Morales is getting thrown through the ringer, but his newly teased Iron Spider suit could be the upgrade Spider-Man needs to take down Carnage. Carnage Reigns is proving to be an eccentric and exciting crossover story to kick off the Summer of Symbiotes event at Marvel Comics. In all the madness, Spider-Man has to protect the people of New York from themselves, Cletus Kasady's Extremebiote, and Stark Sentinels, with little more than a motley crew of government-contracted rouges and fledgling superhero Red Goblin at his side. The battle seems dire as the event shifts into its third act, but Miles' potential new battle armor could help turn the tide in his favor.

The possibility of Miles Morales debuting his own Iron Spider suit came to light through variant covers for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #7, as seen on League of Comic Geeks. Both Taurin Clarke and series artist Federico Vicentini were...

Ironheart Needs To Answer 1 Major Iron Man Question
Image
Riri Williams has already made her way to the MCU, but her solo adventure in Ironheart has an important Iron Man question to answer. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever marked the first appearance of Dominique Thorne in the MCU as Riri Williams, a young MIT student and genius inventor who has developed her own suit of armor, akin to those worn by Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, and James "Rhodey" Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine. Thorne will make her next MCU appearance in her own Disney+ series, Ironheart, which will pit the armored hero against the Hood (Anthony Ramos), and potentially the much-anticipated Mephisto, rumored to be played by Sacha Baron Cohen.

Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Okoye (Danai Gurira) tracked Williams down in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever after vibranium-tracking technology she developed alerted the US government to Namor's underwater city of Talokan. Seeking refuge in Wakanda, Williams aided...

Classroom Chaos: Top Ten High School Outsiders
One of the hardest bouts of growing pains experienced by adolescents is that rite of passage known as the high school experience. In high school one is subject to discovering their own sense of self-identity and purpose. In fact, sometimes the social factor is crucial because the cost of belonging in social-related circles is vital in a four-year commitment to belonging among your peers.

The tension is high to belong and get along as your search for excellence in good grades, social interaction and the overall learning experience is important. However, not every youngster can cope with what they are faced as the obstacles to excel are demanding in high school. Hence, the potential to become “an outsider” is inevitable and the unlikeliest label that no one can overcome no matter how much they try.

The movies have been instrumental in capturing such heavy-handed angst and frustration of the tortured...

20 Most Viewed Movie Trailers of 2014
Anthony Daniels, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, James Earl Jones, David Prowse, and Kenny Baker in Star Wars: Episode IV - Eine neue Hoffnung (1977)
THR has released an official list of the most viewed trailers of 2014. And you may be surprised to see which movie came in first. While a lot of your are probably guessing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it was actually Fifty Shades of Grey that took top honors. While Star Wars: The Force Awakens had the best start of the year, grabbing 58.2 million views in its first five days of release, it was Fifty Shades of Grey that won the race with its four month head start. The trailer has been viewed 93 million times on Youtube since its July 24 release. Don't feel too bad for Star Wars 7, though, as it came in second place with 81 million Youtube views since its debut over Thanksgiving weekend. In third place was Avengers: Age of Ultron with 78 million views. Here is the full top 20 list of most watched trailers followed by the trailers themselves.

"Avengers" Art Teases Hulkbuster Armor
One of the most anticipated elements of the upcoming "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will be the debut of the 'Hulkbuster Armor,' a new Iron Man suit creation of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) designed to take on Mark Ruffalo's Incredible Hulk when he gets out of control.

This weekend, a leaked concept art sketch from Hot Toys about toy tie-ins for the movie has gone online at CavernadoHulk and showcases the full scale of the creation. While the robot Ultron stands at 8' tall and The Hulk is at 8'5, the Hulkbuster armor stands at a full 11' and is several times Hulk's size in terms of volume.

The concept art deliberately keeps the look of Ultron, Vision and the Hulkbuster armor under wraps - blocking the design itself, showing only a silhouette.

Meanwhile the Hulk himself will sport a new look in the 'Avengers' sequel thanks to Muse,...

Turtle acceptance and suspension of disbelief
Have modern movies increased our ability to accept outlandish heroes like the Ninja Turtles? Yes, and it's a good thing, James writes...

There's a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie out. It's a franchise reboot, bringing the iconic brand back to the big-screen in a fresh live-action feature. You're probably familiar with Tmnt having consumed the Turtletastic mythos in some format - comics, cartoons, older movies, videogames, action figures, Lego and/or Vanilla Ice music videos.

Don't worry if you're not clued up on this cowabunga business, though, because I'm going to break it down and run over the basics on which this mighty multimedia property is built. Here's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a nutshell - or rather, in a turtle shell - as conceived by comics creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird way back in 1984.

The basic story - or at least, the high concept - goes like...

Box Office Report: Guardians Of The Galaxy Rockets To #1 On Labor Day Weekend
Virtually nobody at the start of the summer movie season predicted that the biggest film at the North American box office this summer would be Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a film full of mostly unknown characters that was opening in August in the normally dreadful-at-the-box-office genre of sci-fi comedy. Now, after a summer of muted returns for some of the most anticipated movies, all box office prognosticators look like a bunch of suckers.

Guardians of the Galaxy is officially the highest-grossing domestic film of 2014 – surpassing Captain America: The Winter Soldier, another Marvel film – and will probably remain so until Katniss Everdeen heats up the screen in November. It is also the biggest Marvel movie ever to not feature Peter Parker or Tony Stark. It kept its unstoppable box-office run going this weekend, too, taking in $16.3 million and the #1 spot. That is a tiny 5% drop from its gross last weekend,...

Mad Men (2007)
Philip Seymour Hoffman In God's Pocket
Mad Men (2007)
He's been part of Emmy Award-winning acting teams in Mad Men and Desperate Housewives, and recently distinguished himself as Stark Sr. in the globe-conquering Marvel movies. And if that all wasn't enough, next up for John Slattery is a directing debut. He'll be behind the camera for God's Pocket, and he's clearly been earning the respect of his peers, since he's been able to pull in Philip Seymour Hoffman, John Turturro, Christina Hendricks and Richard Jenkins to star. The film's based on the novel by Pete Dexter, who also penned the source for last year's crazed Lee Daniels effort The Paperboy. If you'd prefer to forget those swamp-gothic shenangians (though that film definitely has its loony pleasures), Dexter also wrote Paris Trout and Deadwood: the former terrifyingly filmed by Stephen Gyllenhaal with Dennis Hopper, and the latter the basis for Walter Hill's Wild Bill (if not the fantastic HBO series,...

The Comic-Con 2012 schedule has now been released in full, and barring any major updates, is set. The blessing and curse of being an attendee is deciding which panels/autograph sessions/special events to attend, when they conflict. And they always do.

Rob Paulsen at an event for Jimmy Neutron: Der mutige Erfinder (2001)
As reported exclusively by EW earlier today, Sean Astin has officially joined the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. When I interviewed Astin, he asserted that Raphael — the red-masked, sai-wielding brother who famously gets along terribly with basically everyone on Earth — is, quote, “Everybody’s favorite Ninja Turtle…the coolest, no question about it.” This assertion totally blew my mind. When I was a kid, my friends were split in three very distinctive directions when it came to the Turtles: My cool friends who played sports liked Leonardo; my friends who didn’t play sports but considered themselves cool liked Michelangelo; and I liked Donatello,...
