Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi recently stirred up some excitement on his Instagram by posting a mysterious video that has fans buzzing about a potential sequel or re-release of his 2007 hit film ‘Awarapan’.

In the video, set to the tune of “Toh Phir Aao,” we see Hashmi’s character on a boat in a stunning location. He also releases pigeons from a cage, echoing a memorable moment from Shriya Saran’s character in the original film. A line from ‘Awarapan’ plays in the background, where Hashmi’s character expresses his willingness to sacrifice himself for a noble cause.

He captioned the post with “Jumma Mubarak” and added the hashtag #Awarapan, which has only intensified the speculation among fans. While some are crossing their fingers for a sequel, others are thrilled at the thought of seeing the film back on the big screen.

Indian cinema acting legend Amitabh Bachchan has shot a cameo in upcoming sequel “Fakt Purusho Maate.”

The Gujarati-language film is a sequel to 2022 hit “Fakt Mahilao Maate,” where he had a leading role. In that film, a young man finds himself able to read the thoughts of all women and he decides to use this power to help others with their relationship problems.

The sequel is a family drama that focuses on gender equality and conflicts between two generations. Bachchan, who is revered in the Indian film industry, will play God in the film. This is not the first time Bachchan has played God – he previously played the role in “God Tussi Great Ho” (2008).

“Fakt Purusho Maate” is produced by Anand Pandit and Vaishal Shah and is written and directed by Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi. The cast also includes Yash Soni, Mitra Gadhvi, Esha Kansara and Darshan Jariwala.

Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty has now approached the Bombay High Court, seeking suspension of a Look-Out Circular (Loc) issued against her by the Central Bureau of Investigation (Cbi). In her plea, Chakraborty has sought for the circular, which bars her from traveling abroad, to be quashed as she has to travel to Dubai for professional commitments.

For those who may not be aware, Rhea Chakraborty is facing prosecution in a drug case following the death of the Bollywood actor and her then-boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, who was found dead in his apartment in Bandra on June 14, 2020. Ssr’s father, in July of that year, lodged a complaint against Chakraborty with Bihar Police, accusing the ‘Jalebi’ actress and her brother, Showik Chakraborty, of abetting the actor’s suicide.

It was another competitive Billboard 200 albums chart with three new collections debuting in the top five for the tracking week ending October 21, led by Young Thug‘s “Punk” at number-one. The 4K restoration (released this month by Cohen Media and featured at the New York Film Festival) of Joan Micklin Silver’s 1975 “Hester Street” is getting deserved credit as a rare female-directed American film from its era. The black and white feature, set in the mostly Jewish immigrant community in New York’s Lower East side in the 1890s, overcame tough odds on multiple fronts to become a significant financial success.

The film grossed $5 million by the end of its run, the equivalent of over $22 million today. All this on a budget of $375,000 (about $1.7 million now). That was a significant success, even if at the time it wasn’t supplemented by home video, and as a black and white film it had limited interest for broadcast television.

Micklin Silver’s film is getting renewed credit for its quality, as well as for being the debut film that caused her to break out as a director.

Ever since the first look of Amitabh Bachchan was released from the film “Chehre” directed by Rumy Jafry the audience has been eagerly awaiting more. The anticipation for the film went even higher when the teaser and the trailer of the film was shared a few months back, for the mystery thriller that also stars Emraan Hashmi.

The makers of the mystery thriller film that stars Emraan Hashmi along with Big B, have resumed the final leg of the movie. The legendary Mr. Amitabh Bachchan is back in action to shoot for the video of the title track in Mumbai. The video is being directed by Kookie Gulati, who last directed the Abhishek Bachchan starrer “Big Bull”.

The coolest thing about this is that Mr. Bachchan has recited a poem written by Rumy Jafry for the title track, that has been put to tune by Shekhar Ravjiani of Vishal-Shekhar, with 107 musicians of Prague.

Amitabh Bachchan is reminiscing his journey in 'filmdom' on social media. Looking back at his over five-decade career, he said that he still wonders how it all went by.

Actor Emraan Hashmi, whose film Mumbai Saga is currently running at the box office, has a slew of films coming out. The actor has three very different films in his kitty at the moment. The lucrative western India box office market will take a hit as a fresh wave of coronavirus has driven cinemas back to 50% occupancy.

On Monday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, which is in charge of Mumbai, the commercial capital of India and the home of the Bollywood film industry, ordered that cinemas return to 50% occupancy, and curtailed social gatherings.

Cinemas across India had expanded to 100% capacity in February after operating at 50% for several months.

Mumbai is the capital of the western Indian state of Maharashtra, which recorded 15,000 new cases of Covid-19 and 48 deaths on Monday. In the neighboring state of Gujarat, rising cases have meant that businesses, including cinemas, are now required to cease operating by 10pm.

Big B has a flamboyant look in film going by the official poster. He wears a stylish cap and spectacles with a solid black frame, and strikes an intense look in the close-up shot. The highlight, however, is his beard, tied neatly below the chin.

Mumbai, March 1: Bollywood's global icon Amitabh Bachchan has thanked fans who expressed concern following his blog announcement that he was undergoing a surgery.

The 78-year-old actor did not give out any details about the nature of the procedure or his medical condition, but unconfirmed sources have said he has undergone a cataract surgery.

Overwhelmed by fan concern, the actor posted three folded hand emojis on Twitter. In yet another post, he stated, "Existence is a merciless complication .. an unresolved equation !! Mumbai, Feb 28 (Ians) Although there has been no official confirmation, unconfirmed reports have stated that Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan has undergone cataract surgery. The reports add that the star will be back home in 24 hours.

"It was nothing, just a cataract surgery. Amitabh Bachchan will be home in the next 24 hours," a source close to the actor revealed, according to the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama.

The veteran actor wrote about going in for surgery on his blog on Saturday night.

"Medical condition .. surgery .. can't write," wrote the 78-year-old actor.

However, he did not elaborate on the medical condition or talk about the procedure which he was to undergo. Worried fans took to social media to wish the actor a quick recovery.

Last year, Big B had been admitted to hospital after contracting Covid-19, along with son Abhishek, daughter-in-law Aishwarya, and grand-daughter Aaradhya.

Mumbai, Feb 24 (Ians) Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan on Wednesday spoke of new beginnings, dropping hint that a big announcement is in the offing.

Big B penned a rhyme with names of his upcoming films like Chehre, Jhund and Brahmastra, and wrote about following up these projects with something new.

He tweeted in Hindi: "Chehre Jhund Brahmastra hai kuch aane wale pal, jald shuru honge kuch aur, futenge nariyal!" 

Big B also shared a photograph where he can be seen playing football. Cinema halls have received the green signal to operate with 100 per cent occupancy. It is positive news for the theatre owners, but not so for the box office just yet.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Sunday allowed theatres to be operate with full capacity from February 1, except in containment zones, while adhering to health safety protocols. However, despite the call, the film trade could be months away from good business. Without big releases and a psychological block over Covid still looming in the minds of many, the audience is not interested in returning to theatres right away, irrespective of whether occupancy rules allow 50 or 100 per cent.

"It was long awaited. After the central government, we await go ahead by the state government. But it is a big breather for the exhibition industry. Now, we hope that the state governments are also proactive in giving us the permission," trade expert Girish Johar said.

Mumbai, Jan 18 (Ians) Actress Soni Razdan feels Rhea Chakraborty was an innocent victim of twisted design. Razdan on Monday took to Twitter to support Rhea, who last year faced social ostracisation after the death of her actor-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput.

In a response to a Twitter user who stated that Rhea has "possibly lost any chance at a career in Bollywood", Soni wrote: "She going to jail has clearly exposed only the people who sent her there and shown that she was an innocent victim of a very twisted design.

"Why won't anyone work with her ? I think she will do very well. I hope so anyway," she added.

Last year, Rhea was taken into custody by the Narcotics Control Bureau (Ncb) after alleged drug angle cropped up in the Sushant Singh Rajput death probe.

Mumbai, Jan 15 (Ians) Actor Emraan Hashmi is back to the theatres amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The actor shared an Instagram photograph on Friday where he can be seen watching a film in a theatre.

Emraan also offered an explanation behind why he is not wearing a mask inside the theatre.

Amitabh Bachchan (Big B) has shared a throwback picture of the time when his actor son Abhishek Bachchan signed his first autograph.

Amitabh Bachchan surprised fans by wishing them Merry Christmas on January 7. The actor then explained on social media that this is the date of the Russian Christmas as per the Gregorian calendar.
