FX will submit 19 actors from The Bear for Emmy Awards consideration this year, Gold Derby has learned.

Two-time Best Comedy Actor winner Jeremy Allen White will again be submitted as the show’s lead actor and look for the hat-trick. Past Best Comedy Supporting Actress winner Ayo Edebiri, who jumped to the lead actress race last year, is again being submitted in Best Comedy Actress.

Four The Bear stars will be submitted in the Best Comedy Supporting Actor category, including two-time winner Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who joins White in looking for a third consecutive victory. The other actors submitted include 2024 nominee Lionel Boyce, 2023 guest acting nominee Oliver Platt, and Matty Matheson.

In the Best Comedy Supporting Actress category, 2024 winner Liza Colón-Zayas is back, alongside costars Abby Elliott and Molly Gordon.

FX also submitted several The Bear guest stars for consideration — no surprise considering the show won both comedy guest categories at last year’s Emmy Awards.

Big TV franchises often expand their universe by creating new shows from one popular hit. In this, shows like NCIS, Chicago Fire, and Criminal Minds have done exceptionally well, making spin-offs that fans loved. Not only these shows, but even Law & Order have done a remarkable job with shows like Svu and Organized Crime.

When the fourth season of Hacks premieres this week, newly minted late-night talk show host Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) is going to run into two real-life TV superstars. Entertainment Weekly reports that Carol Burnett and Jimmy Kimmel will guest-star as themselves on the upcoming season of the hit HBO comedy. While Burnett will turn up to lend support to Vance, Kimmel's role on the series will be more adversarial.

Earlier this year, JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray had the chance to watch Lurker, the boundary-pushing debut feature from writer/director Alex Russell, at the Sundance Film Festival. Describing the film as “a terrific blend of black comedy and psychological thriller” and “exactly the kind of movie I want to see when I hit Sundance,” Bumbray gave Lurker a 9/10 review that can be read at This Link. White, winner of many golden trophies for his work on Hulu’s “The Bear,” showed up to the annual convention of movie theater owners with costar Jeremy Strong in tow. Speaking with new Disney distribution chief Andrew Cripps during the studio’s presentation, the actor talked up the pressure presented by the film, titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere.”

“It was incredible, challenging, and a dream come true. I feel really lucky. We all had Bruce’s blessing. The film tells the story of a very pivotal moment, Bruce struggling to reconcile the pressures of success versus his past,” said White.

At the time of her death, the beloved 87-year-old actress had filmed seven of 10 episodes of Mid-Century Modern, Hulu's new comedy starring Nathan Lane, Matt Bomer, and Nathan Lee Graham as gay best friends who decide to live together in Palm Springs.

Lavin's role of Sybil Schneiderman, the mother of Bunny (Lane), has been receiving Emmy buzz following the sitcom's premiere on March 28. She currently ranks among the top 10 for Best Comedy Supporting Actress, according to the Gold Derby odds. To date, only 11 actresses have received posthumous Emmy nominations, so Lavin would be in rare company, indeed.

With spring television in full bloom, more and more Emmy contenders are sprouting up Gold Derby's predictions charts. In fact, eight actors are now predicted to receive nominations, compared to our previous snapshot of 2025 Emmys odds on March 19.

That includes The Studio stars Seth Rogen in Best Comedy Actor and Ike Barinholtz in Best Comedy Supporting Actor. The buzzy Apple TV+ comedy series that lampoons Hollywood just debuted on March 26, and will air weekly until May 21, which ensures it'll stay top of mind during the last two months of the eligibility period. Jason Sudeikis has reunited with one of his biggest nemeses after punching him in The Mandalorian Season 1 finale. The Ted Lasso actor spent some time at Galaxy’s Edge this week and paid a visit to The Mandalorian and Grogu. Sudeikis plays one of the two Bike Scout Troopers in the Season 1 finale who kidnaps Grogu and then smacks him in the head when he’s sitting on the back of the bike, but this isn’t common knowledge as he never takes off his helmet.
