The Egyptian theater in Hollywood is continuing its monthly screening series in association with the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. And March’s is a doozy.

On March 26, Brad Bird, who took home Lafca’s prize for Best Animation for his first three animated features as a director, will be on hand for a special double feature of “The Iron Giant” and Pixar’s “The Incredibles.” In between the movies, there will be a Q&a moderated by Lafca member and film critic Peter Debruge.

The screening is part of a celebration of Lafca’s 50th anniversary with “each film selected for this series in 2025 representing a unique choice made by the organization at its annual vote.” Often, these are chosen to highlight specific titles that “stand apart from the preordained frontrunners of awards season.”

It's been announced that Disneyland guests will be able to meet Marvel's First Family this summer in Tomorrowland. Based on their appearance in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing are all expected to be doing meet-and-greets.

However, they won't be alone.

A H.E.R.B.I.E. robot is also in the works from Imagineers, though it's unclear if it will be ready later this summer. As for how The Thing will be brought to life, we'd imagine it's going to be similar to the Quantum Suit-wearing Hulk who has occasionally roamed the Disney Parks.

Back to H.E.R.B.I.E., he's described as "a fully functioning analog computer [that] assists the Fantastic Four in their quest to protect Earth."

In terms of what that could be, there’s really only one place for the Fantastic Four to appear at a Disney park: Tomorrowland.

The first trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps marks a major turning point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it features the arrival of Marvel's first family into the MCU. While Captain America and Namor predate the Fantastic Four comics, their creation in 1961 gave birth to the Marvel Universe and built the foundation to spawn beloved characters like Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, and many more. Fans have been waiting for them to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe since it began in 2008 with Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.

However, this is far from the Fantastic Four's first time on the big screen. This is the fourth cinematic incarnation of the famous heroes. There was the never-intended-to-be-released low-budget B-movie from 1994, the two moderately successful but critically dismissed movies in the 2000s, and the infamous 2015 flop.

When it comes to science fiction franchises, Disney doesn't have the greatest track record. The studio's Star Wars content has been heavily criticized for a decade now, and other projects like Tomorrowland, A Wrinkle in Time, and the Tronseries never made much of a dent or garnered a big fanbase. However, perhaps the biggest sci-fi tragedy in Disney's entire catalog is 2012's John Carter, which adapted the long-beloved works of Edgar Rice Burroughs to the big screen. With Taylor Kitsch playing the leading John Carter of Mars, the film was supposed to spawn a trilogy that would have continued these intergalactic adventures. Unfortunately, poor marketing killed John Carter before it had the chance to jump too high off the ground — but what would the sequels have been like? From what we can tell, they would have been magnificent.

Netflix’s new Christmas movie “The Merry Gentlemen” is now streaming, telling story of a young dancer who comes home to find that her parents’ business — and thus, her whole childhood, essentially — may be going under. So, to help save it, she organizes a Christmas-themed male revue to pull in ticket sales.

The movie features a lot of familiar faces, but perhaps some new ones for you too. So, we’ve got you covered.

Netflix Ashley (Britt Robertson)

Ashley is a professional dancer, who is unceremoniously fired for being too old (in her 30s). She’s played by “Tomorrowland” and “The Longest Ride” star Britt Robertson. She also starred in “The Space Between Us” and more recently, “The Rookie: Feds,” as well as a few episodes of “The Rookie.

Exclusive: Premiere Entertainment Group (Peg), the L.A.-based production and sales company, has acquired worldwide rights to holiday rom-com film Love Unexpected, which will star Britt Robertson (The Longest Ride).

Production is set to start in December in the Greater Colorado Springs area.

However, following Walt's death in December 1966, the mansion sat undeveloped for years, and guests began to wonder what the mysterious building held in store for them. Since its opening, many different iterations of the attraction have opened in Disney Parks across the world. Following the successful release of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Disney released a movie based on the attraction starring comedian Eddie Murphy.

Murphy's movie was not nearly as successful as Pirates and still holds a 13% from critics on Rotton Tomatoes.

Lionsgate released the new trailer to Francis Ford Coppola’s self-financed epic “Megalopolis” on Wednesday ahead of its theatrical debut next month.

Written, produced and directed by Coppola, the movie is a decades-long passion project for the “Godfather” filmmaker. It was a big swing, for sure, requiring Coppola to sell off part of his winery to self-finance the film’s $120 million budget. Reviews out of the Cannes Film Festival were unkind, but this trailer uses the film’s divisiveness to its advantage, quoting critics who slammed Coppola’s previous films now considered masterpieces like “The Godfather,” “Apocalypse Now” and “Dracula.”

Adam Driver, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Aubrey Plaza, Shia Labeouf, Jon Voight, Jason Schwartzman and Grace VanderWaal star in the ambitious drama. “Megalopolis,” which is full of allusions to the Roman Empire and oversized visual flourishes, pits an idealistic architect (Driver) against a powerful politician (Esposito) for control of a futuristic city.

It appears that Disney has a new obsession with using IP it owns. This means it's a perfect time to merge a long-gone attraction with one of the hottest movie franchises ever!

As much as many Disney purists may dislike it, it can't be denied that Disney is focused on using IP in the parks. The D23 announcements proved that and while some can argue it's better to stay away from it, Disney is determined to utilize the IP they own to the utmost. Harvey Keitel and Britt Robertson have teamed for comedy-drama “The Letter,” now in its final week of filming in Buenos Aires, with Rodrigo H. Vila directing.

Written by Vila and Sebastián Meschengieser with script collaboration from Andy Weiss, the film follows Finn (Keitel), an old war veteran, who wants to write a goodbye letter to his only daughter. He decides to hire failed writer Julia (Robertson), who is desperate for money. The two, each feeling lost in their own ways, form an unusual yet endearing friendship that ultimately transforms both their lives.

“The Letter” marks the second collaboration between writer, director and producer Vila and Keitel. The two first worked together on the 2019 sci-fi thriller “The Last Man.”

George Clooney is one of the highest-grossing actors in the industry but he didn’t get the deserved respect from one iconic filmmaker. Clooney opened up about the disparaging comments from Quentin Tarantino which apparently questioned his celebrity status. Interestingly, the Pulp Fiction director allegedly shared that Clooney hadn’t acted in a great movie since the millennium.

Disney just announced that they would bulldoze Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island to add more IP at the Magic Kingdom. Frontierland will no longer be Frontierland; it will be Western IP land. Of course, the Disney suits waited until after D23 to confirm this when they could hide from parks fans.

Parks fans are already upset that Disney will keep calling the area Frontierland when it’s modern-day “Cars.” It defeats the purpose, like Autotopia in Tomorrowland.

Couldn’t they have just made that Cars-themed? But I digress.

Behaviour Interactive was promising big things for Dead by Daylight in the future, but no one saw this coming. Announced last night via the official Dead by Daylight X account, Five Nights at Freddy’s will be entering The Fog in Summer 2025!

Judging from the fact that it was the Dead by Daylight account announcing the crossover, and not anyone from Steel Wool or FNaF creator Scott Cawthorn (though he did tease something was coming), it’s safe to assume (for now) that we won’t be having Dead by Daylight jumping into the next Five Nights at Freddy’s game.

Details are obviously still to come regarding this crossover, which will most likely have one of the animatronics from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria as a Killer, along with a new map, and new cosmetics.

Nothing but praise for Cillian Murphy 's new movie, Kensuke's Kingdom, resulting in the feature opening with a 100% fresh Rotten Tomatoes rating. The film, based on Michael Morpurgo's best-selling children's book and directed by Neil Boyle and Kirk Hendry, tells an inspiring and contemporary tale of building strong relationships, working together, and saving nature. Alongside Murphy, we also hear the voices of Aaron MacGregor, Ken Watanabe, Raffey Cassidy, and Sally Hawkins.

Yesterday, Disney announced that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will return on select nights from November 8 to December 20, 2024. Guests can expect special entertainment, parades, characters, treats, and attractions during the event.

Lionsgate will release Francis Ford Coppola’s self-financed epic “Megalopolis” in U.S. and Canadian theaters, the studio announced on Monday.

The film will open on Sept. 27.

Written, produced and directed by Coppola, the movie is a decades-long passion project for the “Godfather” filmmaker. It is described as a Roman Epic fable set in an imagined Modern America. Adam Driver plays a genius artist who envisions a utopian future for the city of New Rome, while Giancarlo Esposito is the city’s Mayor who remains committed to a regressive status quo.

“Francis is a legend,” Adam Fogelson, chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement to TheWrap. “For many of us, his gifts to cinema were one of the inspirations to devote our own careers to film. It is a true privilege to work with him and to bring this incredible, audacious and utterly unique movie to theatrical audiences.

Going into the weekend, George Miller‘s prequel, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” had scored impressive reviews after its Cannes Film Festival debut with 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Warner Bros. had the film’s stars, Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, just about everywhere promoting the movie. It ended up making $3.5 million from Thursday previews beginning at 3pm, which was less than the $3.7 previews for “Mad Max: Fury Road” back in 2015. It ended up making $10.2 million on Friday, including those previews, which was not a good sign it might reach the $40 million plus projected in advance. Instead, it ended up with $26.3 million over the three-day weekend and an estimated $32 million including Monday.

Green Lantern's return to the forefront of Warner Bros.'s live-action DC franchise has gained more tangibility with news that the property has landed writers for its upcoming TV series. The show had long been in development before the change in leadership and creative direction at DC.

Perhaps the most recognizable name on the list is Damon Lindelof, responsible for creating and serving as the showrunner on DC's Watchmen.
