Exclusive: Oscar Honorary Award winner Wes Studi (Last of the Mohicans), Owen Crow Shoe (Horizon franchise) and Tanaya Beatty (Yellowstone) are among the ensemble cast of modern western Timber Lands, which is currently filming in southern Oregon.

Set against the backdrop of Oregon’s vast timber industry, the Yellowstone-esque story follows two families with a deep-seated generational hatred for each other which comes to a head after the tragic death of one of the families’ celebrated bronc riders. At the center of it all, Russ (Studi), a man with deep ties to his native land, seeks to have the final word and bring about justice to a rivalry threatening to consume all they have left.

Operation Blood Hunt is the film we wanted after Dog Soldiers showed us all that werewolves and soldiers could be a great combination. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much in the way of followup at the time, the promised sequel never happened and anyone who saw Werewolves of the Third Reich would probably rather forget it. So we’ve had to wait until now for Brandon Slagle to take the standard war movie plot of an odd assortment of fighters sent on a mission behind enemy lines and some werewolves to serve as the villains. Pinnacle Peak Pictures is bringing a slate of faith-based films to the Cannes market, including a new installment in the “God’s Not Dead” franchise.

Entitled “God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust,” the film will be released theatrically in the U.S. this fall, but, like the rest of Pinnacle’s slate, foreign territories are available to buyers. The new “God’s Not Dead” film follows the series’ protagonist, Rev. David Hill (played once again by David A.R. White), who, with the help of a skilled political strategist, runs for political office on a platform of preserving “religious freedom” and healing divisions. The cast also includes Dean Cain, who appeared in the first film in the franchise and is best known for “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” as well as Isaiah Washington (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Ray Wise (“X-Men: First Class”).
