I know no one's gonna read this because there are already a million reviews but this is therapy for the trauma that I just experienced watching this drivel - and I already have PTSD from another life altering event so... Firstly this is NOT a remake of the original and NOR should anyone anyone mistake this for that !! I was sooooooo looking forward to this since as a youngin I watched Twister in the theatre. Twice. This atrocious sequel is for clearly 1/10 of the budget and wow I am still seriously floored at how bad this is. As others are saying, see the 90s version... or INTO THE STORM. I'm not going to go into detail as to why this is so bad... suffice to say the 1 and 2 star reviews are on point. All the rave reviews are clearly from those that grew up in the Netflix generation. They wouldn't know a good movie if it was right in front of them. In fact if I'm going to be quite honest, this is like a really good Asylum Entertainment movie and I'm just so fed up that this is the new normal. God I need an effin drink after that bullcaca !!
This movie is excellent. Elizabeth Banks is excellent. Lewis Pullman is excellent. The cinematography is excellent. The soundtrack and music score are excellent. If you want to see caped crusaders please refer to Suicide Squad. If you want to see superheroes in spectacular action, please refer to Borderlands. This is not set in the Marvel Universe. So you need not apply. Thanks for everything Austin Peters. Austin Peters is excellent. This is not the DC Universe. If you want to see nonstop spectacle, please refer to Madame Web. I don't have an actual human heart. I can't actually "feel" emotions however this movie is excellent.

Enough has been said about Season 1 so... Firstly please give Season 2 a chance. There is such a marked difference tone-wise from the time period, to coming out of the burbs into the gritty part of LA, to the camerawork and lighting to the perplexing twists and turns of the narrative. However it does all come to light in the end. And satisfyingly so in my opinion ! I see from other reviews that some are like "Here we go with the cop-thing" and although important, to me it kinda played in the backdrop for context and emerges for more of a role towards the end during the climax.
Deborah Ayorinde and Luke James are both excellent and I always love seeing Ms Pam Grier who looks amazing as usual ! I was equally as super-excited to see Ti West as one of the directors on board who didn't disappoint as he handled the episodes that were more horror-centric and I am an avid horror fiend. The only sorta spoiler (but not really) is I never thought I'd look at Raggedy Ann / Andy in such a dark light.
Now we wait for Season 3 and I wonder what Little Marvin has up his sleeve for the next installment ??!
