Monday is always the most packed day of New York Fashion Week, and for anyone who’s been around long enough to remember the convenience of the Bryant Park tents or the similar setups at Lincoln Center or downtown on Washington Street, the industry abandoning that idea has caused some consternation among several editors who now must trek between South Street buildings with spectacular views of the Statue of Liberty to the west side of Midtown and then to the Upper East Side and back again. It is undeniably time-consuming, resulting in shows that must be skipped.

The second the lights go down and a show begins, of course, all is forgiven (for the moment). This Monday of #Nyfw unspooled a variety of thoroughly beautiful collections for Fall Winter 2024, from designers who not only embrace the tenets of American fashion with a passionate dedication, they also weave outstanding statements in red-carpet fashion.

"This thing is after me." Gravitas has debuted a trailer for an indie psycholigcal thriller called There is a Monster, set for VOD release later this month. It's the feature debut of a filmmaker named Mike Taylor, who wrote and produced as well. This hasn't played at any film festivals and is getting dumped in January. Here's the pitch: a man is haunted and hunted by a monster that only he can see. If this sounds familiar, it's because this kind of idea has been made plenty of times before, in so many better ways. The monster hovers over him as he sleeps, and it starts to affect him physically. More attacks occur and he blames the monster for his troubles. But his wife and best friend wonder if maybe he's losing his mind. There is a Monster stars Joey Collins, Ena O'Rourke, Jesse Milliner, Marcellus Shepard, Kelly Schwartz, MerryRose Howley,...

Betsy Brandt and Michael Park have joined the cast of Hulu’s psychological drama Saint X.
The series is told via multiple timelines and perspectives, explores and upends the girl-gone-missing genre as it explains how a young woman’s mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.
Brandt and Park will play Mia Thomas and Bill Thomas, respectively, in the eight-episode series adapted from Alexis Schaitkin’s novel. The characters are upper middle class parents of two, enjoying a family vacation in a Caribbean resort until one of their daughters goes missing.
They join previously announced talent including Alycia Debnam-Carey, who replaced previous lead Victoria Pedretti after she exited the series due to creative differences. The series also stars Josh Bonzie, West Duchovny and Jayden Elijah.

One of Orson Welles’ best has arrived in 4K! Kino Lorber has revived Universal’s 3-version study of the bordertown crime & corruption drama, that knocks us out with Welles’ colorful, weird characters, intricate scene blocking and infinitely creative camera work. Almost all of the extras from the earlier DVD and Blu-ray editions are here, with added expert commentary (the tally of tracks is now five). The performances are superb — Welles won’t lay off the candy bars, Janet Leigh wisely avoids the motel shower and Charlton Heston is actually fine as a ‘pretty unlikely’ Mexican. We’ve seen this show ten times — it’s so dense that each viewing brings new revelations.

Almost comically unmedieval, this new take on the legend lacks the budget and acting chops of previous Hollywood versions
‘You heard me, yeah?” That’s Robin Hood, back in Nottingham after three years away on the Crusades, trying to persuade Maid Marian to finally marry him. Sticklers for 12th-century accuracy look away now. Bill Thomas’s historical clunker takes its cue from the Guy Ritchie approach to ye olde times authenticity, but without the studio budget to pull off the action scenes.
This is the legend of Robin Hood told from the perspective of Maid Marian, with bit of female kick-assery standing in for feminism. It opens with Marian (Sophie Craig) hiding out in a convent while Robin is off fighting. Pretending to be a novitiate called Sister Matilda, she is dying of boredom. Her one hobby is sneaking out past the mother superior to poach deer for starving peasants...

Pusher Poster, Photos. Luis Prieto‘s Pusher (2012) movie poster, movie photos star Agyness Deyn, Mem Ferda, and Richard Coyle. Pusher‘s plot synopsis: “As edgy and explosive as Nicolas Winding Refn’s 1996 cult classic, this English language remake tells the story of a week in the life of Frank, a big time drug pusher in London. Frank’s life is a fun-filled rollercoaster of a ride that soon spins out of control.
Friendships start to vanish, there is no longer room for love within his life, and violence takes over. Danger and chaos are all around and he becomes a man trapped in his own world. Eventually Frank is left with no one to turn to and nowhere to go, becoming a man paralyzed with the fear of knowing there is no way of preventing his inevitable fate.”
