Argentina's Jorge Guinzburg dies at 59
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Jorge Guinzburg, one of Argentina's most-beloved television personalities, died Wednesday in Buenos Aires from complications from a lung infection. He was 59.
Guinzburg had a long and storied career on Argentine airwaves, hosting a variety of news, humor and talk shows over the past three decades, including "La Noticia Rebelde", "La Biblia y el Calefon" and "Mananas Informales".
He also created, produced and starred in Las Vegas-style revue shows that played in theaters throughout Buenos Aires and the rest of Argentina.
He was awarded Argentina's highest television and radio award, the Martin Fierro, on numerous occasions and was named Argentina's "Host of the Decade" by the Konex Foundation in the 1990s.
