Elias was inspired to move to LA to pursue his composing and acting careers when George S. Clinton (composer of the Austin Powers and Mortal Kombat franchises) addressed the student body at Montana State University. Clinton subsequently told Elias that composing for film is like owning a fruit stand, but the only place to really sell the fruit is in Los Angeles. Elias moved to LA shortly thereafter.

Elias created the original score for the short film, "Water's Handle Music" which won the Medallion Award at the 2009 Washougal International Film Festival.

Uses Brian Eno's and Peter Schmidt's 'Oblique Strategies' Card Deck to inspire creativity while composing.

Has released ambient music albums under the artist name "Dendroid". The origin of dendroid is from the Greek dendroeides meaning branched like a tree or resembling a tree in properties, growth, structure, or appearance.

Moved from Los Angeles to Idaho to espouse the role of a mentor and surrogate father for his young nephew.

Justin is a part time spokesmodel; usually with GM as the client. Within that paradigm he learned to step outside the usual persona of an introverted artist and garnered the skills to be a charismatic and competent public speaker.
