I sought this "film" out based on rave reviews by alleged aficionados of B-Movie overdubs, who compared it to Woody Allen's (1965) What's Up Tigerlily?, and the marvelous sendoffs of Comedy Channel's Mystery Science Theater 3000. That it was a parody of one of the most effective horror movies of all time only reinforced my curiosity that it might be a truly amusing outing into the deeply absurd. What one gets, instead, is a completely crass attempt at movie parody by a bunch of hacks who consider endless "poo-poo humor" and fart jokes to be the absolute end-all in belly laughs. This pathetically crude attempt at mimicry is compounded by guys overdubbing the voices of the female roles, that come off sounding exactly like. well, guys overdubbing high-pitched female voices. One could just as easily have convened a completely random assembly of 12-year old Jr. High School kids to script and perform a much better parody.
At this point in time, it is very reassuring that the art of foley sound overdubs is still alive and well in the form of true masters like Buzz Moran's marvelous "Foleyvision" troop operating out of Austin, TX.
