Johnson & Friends

ahh the memories i have of being a 5 year old and humming along to the theme song of this great show.

The show is set in Michael's bedroom - Michael is a boy like any other but when Michael leaves his bedroom his toys come to life. Each episode focuses on the adventures, mischief and fun of the toys when they are alone.

The toys are: Johnson, Michael's oldest toy, a pink stuffed elephant; McDuff, a blue and yellow accordion; Diesel, a red toy truck; Alfred, a green water bottle; Squeaky, a black and red robot; and Victoria the dinosaur. (from the abc website) you can't go past a show where toys come to life!

J&F is a great children's product. Its all about social skills amongst an elephant, accordion, monster truck and a hot pack. Sometimes the best shows are the ones you can fall asleep to for a nice nap. J&F is one of those and definitely not in a bad way.

Great product. I Miss these days when children shows were quality over quantity. Puppeteer shows beat the current ugly 3d shows 365 days of the year no doubt.

I was fortunate enough to see this wonderful series on DVD the other day in a shop that was closing down, and seeing that it was reduced to half price, quickly grabbed 3 seasons of the show! As soon as I spotted the DVD's I had fond memories flashing back of how this great show with it's catchy theme and wonderful characters had captured my imagination as a child.

When I came home and showed my partner, he too got excited, because he had fond memories of the show while he was growing up as well.

Now we both have an excuse of watching this magical series again by letting our 3 year old son watch it as well. He's already loving it because he likes the fact that there's a character by the name of Diesel who's a car, and not many kids shows features cars.

We recommend to anyone who has a young child to try to find this DVD and let them watch it, it's a real gem and a rare Australian production that is unforgettable and still great over time.
