The canned laughter happens even when nothing funny happens, which is most of the show. I might watch another few episodes if it were not for the laugh track. When will the networks realize we don't need or want canned laughter. Film in front of a studio audience or just leave the laughter for us at home.
Additionally I found the characters annoying and the TikTok scene were annoying. I think they must have decided to add the laugh track because they knew the show itself was not funny. Watching a drunk father try to get back into a relationship with his daughter is not funny. But the show is also not good as a drama. Just all around disappointing. The actors could do better than this.

Why in the world do sitcom producers still insist on adding laugh tracks? Are they afraid their shows just aren't funny, that audiences can't judge for themselves? In the case of this particular show, yep. These producers need to check out Abbott Elementary and Young Sheldon, shows that are huge hits that don't need laugh tracks. (A big mystery there is why Chuck Lorre continues to produce other sitcoms that are still plastered with those dreaded tracks).
I tried to get my teenage granddaughters interested in Lopez vs Lopez. They watched about ten minutes of the pilot and said no way, we hate laugh tracks.
All that said, I still like this show, even though my husband doesn't for the reason I keep harping on.

The first two seasons were not great but this season is really bad. I don't know how they possibly made this show worse. That "roast" episode was dog S#%T. Just so unfunny. I don't understand why this show is still on the air. I remember when NBC used to make great sitcoms but this show is really not well written. The actors that could be funny on Lopez vs Lopez are not given much to work with. This is a forgettable show that doesn't use is cast or premise in any good way. Please NBC make better decisions. Happy's Place isn't the best sitcom but it is much better than what is happening on Lopez.
I was not going to say anything unless the show was going to get renewed. And found out NBC giving this show a 3rd season. And to be honest this show is really sweet, heartwarming and funny. I have not seen George Lopez on tv since his old show on ABC network tv back in 2007. Wow that was a really long time ago before streaming was available. Anyway I don't watch this show on tv because I hate commercials. I will wait for Netflix or Amazon to have the show. And to be honest the wait is worth it. I actually got to see the 2nd season on Amazon after the show aired. So I am very happy. I love the humor and the script of the show.
This is pretty much the EXACT same show George Lopez keeps doing over and over and over and over. How does he get away with having essentially the SAME sitcom produced under different names??
This appears to be more nepotism than anything... G. Lopez trying to buy a career boost for his daughter. Too bad she can't really act if this show is any indication. And G Lopez can't act either, he never has. He's the same exact character in everything - even his standup - which is why he's always called by his real name in all his (repetitious) sitcoms. I imagine he gets confused if he has to actually use a character name.
Anyway.. a canned laugh track for an unfunny show with pretty poor acting all around and repeating the same jokes G Lopez has used for decades.
Hard pass - even on free tv.
