“Dive” and “La Jauría” helmer Lucía Puenzo is set to direct gangster epic “The Gunwoman (Pepita’s Legend),” toplining and executive produced by Argentine star Luisana Lopilato, and inspired by the real-life story of Margarita Di Tullio, queen of its Mar del Plata underworld who became the most famous woman in Argentina’s criminal history.

Currently in pre-production, the movie is backed by one of the grandest alliances ever assembled to produce an Argentine feature film, thriller “The Gunwoman” (Pepita’s Legend)” being produced by a consortium led by Argentina’s Zeppelin Studio, headed by Lucas Jinkis. The alliance also takes in Historias Cinematográficas, Erik Barmack’s Wild Sheep Content, Yair Dori, Bar Rimoni, Javier Furgang, 7395 Media and Non Stop Studios.

Buenos Aires and Madrid-based Bikini Films is presenting Carolina Daza’s Canary Islands mystery series, “Non Trubada” at Iberseries’ Co-Production and Financing Forum.

Set in Spain’s Canary Islands in the year 2025, “Non Trubada,” meaning Not Found in Latin, centers on the mythical island of San Borondón, which resurfaces after a period below the water.

After a mysterious woman is found on the island and a civil guard goes missing, investigations reveal a portal to an alternate universe, leading to global intrigue and a Spanish government cover-up. “A thrilling race begins to unravel the island’s mysteries, reshaping history in ways beyond imagination,” goes the synopsis.

The Disney+ has a cool new addition for youngsters who want to get into the horror genre: a mystery horror series called Tierra Incognita, all eight episodes of which are now available to watch on the streaming service. The show is an Argentine production, but as you can see in the trailer embedded above, there is an English dub option. So kids can have the same experience watching Tierra Incognita as I did watching dubbed Godzilla movies during my childhood.

Created by Tomás Wortley, Tierra Incognita has the following synopsis:

Eight years ago, Eric Dalaras’ parents mysteriously disappeared without a trace. The teenager is determined to solve his parents’ disappearance and enters a scary world. After their parents disappear, Eric and his sister Uma grow up with their maternal grandparents. Eric decides to leave there to search for answers in the town of Cabo Qwert, where he lived as a child.

Announced today for Disney+ Day, the original series “Tierra Incógnita” is now streaming on Disney+. Produced in Latin America, the new family-friendly horror series follows Eric Dalaras (Pedro Maurizi), a teenager who discovers a hair-raising world while searching for the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of his parents eight years before.

Raised by his maternal grandparents along with his sister Uma (Mora Fisz), Eric decides to run away from home and go back to his childhood town, Cabo Qwert, to find answers to where his parents were last seen: the Tierra Incógnita horror theme park.

Together with his friends, his sister and his aunt, Eric must overcome his fears in order to find answers and solve the mystery in a dark and unfamiliar world.

It’s the day that Disney devotees have been waiting for. The second annual Disney+ Day returns this Thursday ahead of the D23 Expo — and there’s a ton in store for superfans of Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and all things from the House of the Mouse, including a rare deal for new subscribers.

The annual celebration includes exclusive Disney+ content and releases for subscribers, such as the streaming premieres of Thor: Love and Thunder and Pinocchio; new series and originals such Cars on the Road, Tierra Incógnita, Brie Larson’s hybrid docuseries Growing Up and National Geographic’s Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory; behind-the-scenes content such as Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder, Dancing with the Stars: The Pros’ Most Memorable Dances and Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return; and a new original short film, Remembering, by Emmy-winning director Elijah Allan-Blitz.

Disney+ has announced a host of new premieres for its upcoming Disney+ Day on Thursday, September 8, including the debut of the latest Marvel Studios film, Thor: Love and Thunder. The Chris Hemsworth-starring movie will headline the highly anticipated Disney+ Day, which will see celebrations across Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products. The movie will hit the streaming service as part of Disney+ Day, a day the streamer is using to celebrate its programming. On Monday, Disney+ announced several additional debuts for Sept. 8, including “Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return,” “Remembering,” “Dancing with the Stars: The Pros’ Most Memorable Dances,” “Tierra Incógnita,” the “Frozen” and “Frozen 2” sing-alongs and “Welcome to the Club.”

The new programming will join the previously announced premiere of “Pinocchi,” a new episode of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” “Cars on the Road,” “Growing Up” and ““Epic Adventures with Bertie Gregory,
