UPDATE 4/7/12: So, all 6 episodes of Bent that currently exist have aired. If "Tile Date" doesn't convince NBC that this show deserves to live, they really do have no idea what they're doing. A-
OLDER:
We're only 4 episodes into Bent, with only 2 left to air. It's likely that this show will be canceled after these 6 episodes air, given the lack of promotion and terrible ratings. Which is unfortunate, because this show is actually more than decent, particularly the third episode "HD". It's clear this show knows what it's doing, and there isn't a weak link in the cast.
You probably won't laugh out loud much watching "Bent". But unlike the similarly low-guffaw "Up All Night", this show actually has good writing, and charming, nuanced acting all around, neither of which feel desperate for laughs in the slightest. It's this low-key charm that makes the show much more entertaining than expected. B+

It is unacceptable to stop this show so unexpectedly while we as viewers are waiting with are breaths taken away the continuance of the story. You shouldn't take away the art spirit and the statements that this maker was trying to give to his audience, because of some bad reviews and RATINGS!!!!!!.You are committed till the end and you should be ashamed of the lack of responsibility and your materialistic perspective!!!!!!! As a Greek Citizen I am obligated to tell you that because of this refusal of real art we are today a nation with financial problems, because we lost our identity and now only Turkish shows are airing. You are also on the verge of losing the cultural identity. Be careful danger danger danger!!!!!!

Alex Meyers (Amanda Peet) is a divorced lawyer with daughter Charlie (Joey King). She's looking to renovate her kitchen. She hires Pete Riggins (David Walton) and his haphazard crew; Clem (J.B. Smoove), Vlad (Pasha D. Lychnikoff), and rookie Gary (Jesse Plemons). In her life, Alex has boyfriend Ben (Matt Letscher), sister Screwsie (Margo Harshman), and father Walt Riggins (Jeffrey Tambor).
This is the traditional sitcom of a smart hot gal who's looking for love. All the standard characters are here. They are played by good likable actors. But the writing is just not up to snuff. There aren't enough jokes. There are only 6 episodes. It never found it's voice. Maybe the concept was professionally written up by veterans but they definitely needed better writers to tighten up the scripts.

Im a remodeling contractor stuck in Michigan for 20 years, my soul is supposed to be in Cali. what a dream this show was for me. Ocean air, remodeling awesome homes, snap my chalk line and hotties come running.
The battling with the lesbian contractor was funny , there are so many funny things about construction, if producers hire detectives and doctors to consult on script writing y couldn't they hire contractors for consultants? a real good construction comedy could go on for a long time. this show even had a big named actress
And the cast was good.
Is it 10 lines yet?

This has crisp writing, excellent performances; in short it's thoroughly enjoyable and I'm so glad I managed to catch it before it disappeared. I should have realized that anything NBC tried to bury in their schedule with absolutely no promotion would be vastly superior to any of their other freshmen comedies that made it onto the main schedule (Free Agents, Whitney - are you kidding, and while I love Christina Applegate let's not kid ourselves that Up All Night is a worthy successor to Samatha Who ). Shame on NBC for not promoting this and if you had a clue ( but we know you don't ) you'd slot this in after the Voice or at least *mention* it when people are actually watching your network.
