The first time Seth Rogen met Ike Barinholtz he thought the fellow comedic actor was nothing more than Danny McBride’s assistant.

Rogen and Barinholtz revealed as much during a Sirius Xm Town Hall interview with “Real Housewives” producer Andy Cohen on Wednesday. According to both men, who co-star right now in the Apple TV+ comedy series “The Studio,” they met under unlikely circumstances years ago when they were both in North Carolina at the same time.

“Elle,” the “Legally Blonde” prequel series, has found Elle’s mom.

June Diane Raphael has joined the Amazon Prime Video project as Eva, joining the previously announced Lexi Minetree as Elle. The series follows a younger Elle Woods, who was played by Reese Witherspoon in the two “Legally Blonde” films, finding her footing in high school.

“Elle” is created by Laura Kittrell, who is an executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Caroline Dries. Witherspoon is executive producing the show through her Hello Sunshine banner, alongside Lauren Neustadter and Marc Platt. The first two episodes will be directed by Jason Moore. “Elle” is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios.

There is a wildcard at every wedding, but in the case of “You’re Cordially Invited,” there are two. And they are played by Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.

Now streaming on Prime, the film directed by Nicholas Stoller centers on two families who unknowingly double book their weddings at the same small inn — an inn that can really only accommodate one wedding. For Jim (Ferrell), it is his daughter’s, and for Margot (Witherspoon), it is her sister’s. Naturally, the two immediately go insane, trying to force the other to back down.

Less than 24 hours after a new look at John Cena in one of his most anticipated upcoming projects (Peacemaker Season 2) was revealed, one of his movies thats more than five years old was quietly added to a new streamer. Cena stars alongside Leslie Mann in Blockers, the raunchy comedy that was recently added to Peacock and is now streaming on the platform. The film follows three sets of parents all trying to stop their daughters from losing their virginity on prom night. In addition to Cena and Mann, Blockers also stars Kathryn Newton and Geraldine Viswanathan, and the film currently sits at an 84% score from critics but a 51% rating from general audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, a critics-skewing split which isnt commonly seen on the aggregate site.

2023 teen comedy The Crusades may not have been a critical hit, but for Millenial viewers like myself, its a surprisingly refreshing example of how the genre has moved away from its problematic roots. Directed by Leo Milano and starring Rudy Pankow, Khalil Everage, and Ryan Ashton among the ensemble cast, The Crusades doesnt do much to reinvent the teen comedy genre as far as the plot goes.

However, while it may not be innovative, it is hugely entertaining in its own way. Its also a huge improvement on the tone set by the likes of American Pie, Superbad, and other films in the same genre from my own adolescence. The Crusades movie stands as proof that teen comedies can still be raunchy, edgy, and boundary-pushing without being problematic, and there are several reasons why the 2023 movie should have a much better reputation than its 22% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes suggests...

The project, which stars and is written and executive produced by the “Shiva Baby” actress, follows a codependent friend group that reunites, navigating how the time apart, ambition, and new relationships have changed them.

In addition to Sennott, the show’s cast includes Odessa A’zion, Jordan Firstman, Miles Robbins and True Whitaker (“Godfather of Harlem”).

Exclusive: Here’s a hot one. Black Bear and Suzanne Todd Productions are checking in for female ensemble comedy, Spa Weekend, which will be led by Leslie Mann (Knocked Up), Isla Fisher (Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy), Michelle Buteau (Babes) and Anna Faris (Scary Movie).

The buzzy package has been written by and will be directed by Bad Moms writer-directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore.

The film follows three best friends, Jane, Coco and Sophie, as they embark on some much-needed pampering during a luxury spa break in Palm Springs. But when their trainwreck friend, Mel, turns up, the relaxation quickly descends into chaos with hilarious consequences.

The picture will be produced by Suzanne Todd (Bad Moms) for Suzanne Todd Productions and John Friedberg (The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare) for Black Bear, with Teddy Schwarzman and Michael Heimler executive-producing.

Black Bear reps international rights on the film and will also co-rep U.

Entering production in New York this month, the film centers on Iris (Gordon) and Isaac (Lerman), whose first weekend away as a couple is going so well — until Isaac mentions he didn’t know they were a couple. Booksmart, Blockers, and Good Boys have shown how R-rated teen comedies (or younger) can thrive in a modern climate Incoming kills that momentum. It's the lowest-hanging fruit of house party mischief, resulting in literal toilet humor and misguided attempts to skewer the 2000s sex comedy era. One or two jokes might cause a titter, but the other ninety-eight percent of this unfunny deflation has nothing to offer but hormonal awkwardness without the gut-busting payoff.

John Cena says he will retire from professional wrestling next year after two decades in the ring.

On Saturday night, the wrestler-turned-actor delivered a heartfelt speech in Toronto to a stadium of World Wrestling Entertainment fans, who booed in disappointment as Cena said the 2025 season would be his last. He promised a farewell tour with dozens of dates and an epic final fight, and he assured fans he would remain involved with the wrestling franchise that launched his career.

“Thank you so much for letting me play in the house that you built for so many years,” Cena told the crowd.

In a news conference after the event, Cena told reporters that he feels physically “at my end,” but that doesn’t mean he needs to distance himself from the sport he loves.

During a surprise appearance at Saturday’s Money in the Bank in Toronto, Canada, the 16-time world champion wrestler announced he’s retiring from the WWE following WrestleMania 2025.

Although Cena has been known to display a towel that reads “never give up” over the years, this time he came out with one that read, “The last time is now.”

“Why am I here? Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from the WWE,” he said to shocked gasps from the audience.

Later in his speech, Cena revealed he plans to stay on to take part in Monday Night Raw as it makes the unprecedented move to Netflix in January 2025.
