The first season was a blast, the second I honestly don't remember, but this third season is a complete waste of time. Nothing happens, except everyone is constantly eating and drinking in a luxurious seaside setting, looking good and having money. Although everything is based on "suspense", built throughout the whole season, it's still really boring and keeps you invested only because of the beautiful scenery, bodies and luxury - truly that is all there is. I get the impression as if some dark Hollywood forces somehow manage to blackmail the creators of successful shows to make this kind of garbage, otherwise...no, I can't understand.
When you grow up on Lynch's movies, or Hitchcock, just to mention 2 masters of mystery - this looks really cheap. Especially when I see a lot of male sexual fantasies and underlying misogyny all over the place.
Looks like all the elements are there, but the final product feels entirely boring. Like eros&thanatos mixed just for the sake of bizarre - which seems to turn on someone, and that's all.
Female beauty, purity and virginity vs. Violence and lower instincts explored in a very shallow way.
It works maybe as a commercial or music video.
What the hack is Keanu Reeves doing in this third-rate movie???

Despite the cheap looking opening credits with predictably "mysterious" music, during the first half of the movie I felt like I wanted to write "deserves better rating". Then soon, because of it's shallowness, I started to imagine what kind of movie Lynch would make from this material. It's a pity, because it really had some potential. And Nicolas Cage. It "drifts along" as one user already nicely said, develops slowly as if it will last for hours, and then as if it wakes up near the end is like "hey, quickly, we have to make some kind of ending!" - then 5 minutes of bad acting, very poor conclusion and bye bye, nothing.
