Her daughter Jane, Jane's mother-in-law, Jane Holland, and her granddaughter Lucy were killed by a tsunami while vacationing in Phuket, Thailand. Another granddaughter, Alice, was seriously injured. [December 26, 2004]

Both her husband Richard Attenborough and her younger brother Gerald Sim died in 2014: on August 24 and December 11 respectively.

Costarred opposite husband Richard Attenborough in the original production of Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" in London in 1952; now the longest-running play ever.

She appeared in three films with her husband Richard Attenborough: Bailando con la muerte (1947), The Guinea Pig (1948) and The Magic Box (1951).
