The film which has been directed by Jatin Bora and produced by himself is said to be loosely inspired from Thalapathy Vijay's Theri directed by Atlee.   The film is about the struggle of a single father played by Jatin and the adorable bond he shares with his daughter played by Dubori. Ratnakar got a positive response from the audiences and critics. The film reportedly got an occupancy of 80% and has collected Rs.49 lakh on its opening which is the highest for any Assamese movie.
