By the time the blood had dried and the final scream had echoed into silence, I found myself asking not whether Cinderella’s Curse was a good film in the traditional sense but whether it had succeeded on its own unapologetically twisted terms. Directed by Louisa Warren, a filmmaker known for her work in the indie horror underground through her production company Champ Dog Films, this grotesque reimagining of the beloved fairy tale is more slasher flick than a storybook fable. It’s messy, ambitious, wildly uneven… and strangely compelling.

I went in expecting kitschy horror, and Warren delivers that in spades. But she also attempts something bolder: to peel away the glossiness of Disney’s Cinderella and expose the raw, often brutal origins of the tale.

Viral Haunt has been retitled The Haunting at Jack the Ripper’s House, and Bloody Disgusting has not one but two exclusive trailers for the found footage horror film below.

ITN Distribution’s official preview centers on the horrors surrounding the Jack the Ripper legend, while producers Taw Entertainment’s alternate trailer shows more of the influencers’ reactions to the terrors that await them.

Natasha Tosini, who’s head was run over in Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey, and Stephen Staley, who was among the slashed-up ravers in Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2, co-wrote and co-directed the UK film.

Well, it looks like Popeye has officially entered the public domain, and with that comes the inevitable low-budget horror adaptation. The beloved spinach-loving sailor is the latest classic character to be transformed into a slasher villain, following in the footsteps of Winnie-the-Pooh and Peter Pan.

The film, titled Popeye’s Revenge, takes the familiar formula of turning childhood icons into nightmare fuel. If you’re curious—or just can’t look away—there’s already a trailer out for it.

Popeye’s Revenge is described by ITN Movies as a “horrifying take on the classic character,” though that may not mean what they think it does. This isn’t horrifying because of its scares—it’s horrifying because it’s essentially Friday the 13th with Popeye in the killer role.

The film follows a group of friends hoping to open a summer camp, only to be haunted by the legend of Popeye.

A new horror film is tapping into the digital age’s obsession with influencers and the supernatural. Viral Haunt, the latest project from UK-based Taw Entertainment, is bringing social media horror to the big screen, blending found-footage terror with psychological dread. Filming is underway, with the movie set to be distributed worldwide by ITN Distribution.

Directors Natasha Tosini and Stephen Staley helm the project, which follows a group of internet-famous ghost hunters as they attempt to silence accusations that their paranormal investigations are staged. The classic tale of Cinderella gets a rated “R” horror makeover in the upcoming Cinderella’s Curse, and we’re exclusively debuting the trailer and poster art today.

ITN Studios will be releasing Cinderella’s Curse in theaters in 2024.

With a title like Freddy’s Fridays, it’s obvious this was meant to cash in on the release of Five Nights at Freddy’s. And with the length of time that film took to actually get made both of the other knockoffs, The Banana Splits Movie and Willy’s Wonderland ended up preceding it to release, so Freddy’s Fridays has the mockbuster slot all to itself.

Tyler-James has been involved with several projects that have caught our attention in recent months. The filmmaker has produced the films that turn the popular nursery rhymes Mary Had a Little Lamb and Three Blind Mice into horror stories, and directed The Loch Ness Horror. Now a trailer for a new Tyler-James project has arrived online. This one is a creature feature called Monsternado, and you can check out the trailer in the embed above!

Uncork’d Entertainment will be giving Monsternado a digital and DVD release on November 14th.

Tyler-James directed the film from a screenplay by Derek Miller, who previously wrote episodes of Dads in Parks and It’s Pony. This one has the following synopsis: A tornado, infested with prehistoric monsters, has formed in the Bermuda Triangle, and is making its way towards land. “Mary Had a Little Lamb” is the latest piece of media from your childhood to be turned into a horror film no one asked for. Check out the trailer for the project below.

Directed by visual effects artist and animator Jason Arber, Mary Had a Little Lamb is centered on true crime podcast host Carla, who drags her team to the woods to investigate a missing persons case. On their journey, the group discovers a mysterious house owned by Mary, who takes them in. Enter her lamb — which is definitely a human man in a terrifying (costume? real? ) lamb head — who goes on a killing rampage.

Last month, we shared the news that ITN Studios, the company that brought us Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, is teaming with producer/director Louisa Warren on two fractured fairy tale horror movies: Cinderella’s Curse and Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre. The first look photos for Cinderella's Curse, from the studio that created Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, have been revealed.

Shared by Variety, the photos come from ITN Studios, the distributor of the controversial horror film Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. Cinderella's Curse is similarly a low-budget horror reimagining of a classic story previously popularized by Disney. This version is far different from the animated film, however, as is evident from the first-look photos. The first photo features a blonde actor wearing a blood-splattered white mask, while the second image reveals star Kelly Rian Sanson, who is similarly covered in grime and blood. A third image sees Sanson looking cleaner but much more horrified.

The first pair of images from Cinderella's Curse have been unveiled by IGN, with one showing Cinderella, played by Easter Bunny Massacre: The Bloody Trail star Kelly Rian Sanson, contorted in a way that makes her look possessed, with the second image showing off a bloody glass slipper. The next batch of images come courtesy of Variety, with a trio of pics revealing another look at this very different Cinderella, who this time sports a white mask and holds an unseen weapon above her head. Spoiler alert, the weapon is probably her beloved glass slipper, which she will clearly find plenty of opportunities to use.

ITN Studios, the distributor behind cult micro budget horror “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” has released a first look at its upcoming project “Cinderella’s Curse.”

Produced and directed by Louisa Warren, the film stars Kelly Rian Sanson, Chrissie Wunna and Danielle Scott.

Harry Boxley (“Mary Had A Little Lamb”) wrote the screenplay.

“Cinderella’s Curse” is a spine-chilling twist on the familiar fairytale.

It’s already started shooting in the U.K. and the first images show Sanson with classic blonde ringlets covered in sweat, cuts and grime. In another image, a blonde woman clad in a white mask is covered in blood and appears to be holding a knife.

The third image shows Sanson looking on at something in horror.

Cinderella is out for vengeance in Cinderella's Revenge, an upcoming horror film by Andy Edwards starring Lauren Staerck (Trust) and Natasha Henstridge (Species). In Disney's version of Cinderella (the most popular version of the classic children's tale), the heroine is pushed around by her evil stepmother and stepsisters but never acts violently against them. Things will look a little different in this retelling, and Cinderella will switch out her glass shoes and use the assistance of her Fairy Godmother to seek bloody vengeance.

In a statement to Deadline, who first reported the news, Sobini Films' Mark Amin said:

"Cinderella is the most famous fairy tale in the world. We were able to develop a great horror script that is also a female empowerment story with global appeal."

Staerck, best known for her roles in Trust, Bad Influencers and The P.A, will star as the titular character, while Natasha Henstridge will portray the Fairy Godmother.

Producers/directors Louisa Warren and Scott Jeffrey have worked together multiple times, crafting films about creepy mermaids, scarecrows, and dolls. They’ve even made several horror Tooth Fairy movies. Jeffrey is currently collaborating with Rhys Frake-Waterfield on a series of films that will put a horror twist on public domain children’s stories like Peter Pan, Bambi, and Winnie the Pooh – and it started with Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. While they work on that, Warren has announced (via our friends at Bloody Disgusting) that she has two fractured fairy tale horror movies in the works: Cinderella’s Curse and Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre!

The idea of retelling placid and gentle children's fairy tales in a bloody, horror milieu is hardly new. Think of a fairy tale or beloved children's classic, and odds are good that someone has already transformed it into a horror movie. Off the top of my head: Neil Jordan made a horror movie out of Little Red Riding Hood with "The Company of Wolves" in 1984. Later, in 1996, filmmaker Matthew Bright brought the same story into a scuzzy modern setting with "Freeway." 1997 saw the release of "Snow White: A Tale of Terror" with Sigourney Weaver as the evil queen.

"The Little Mermaid" was transformed into an awesome 2015 horror musical called "The Lure." Pinocchio starred in "Pinocchio's Revenge." The Gingerbread Man was transformed into "The Gingerdead Man". A quick stroll through the spider-webbed hallways of Tubi might reveal titles like "The Curse of Sleeping Beauty," 1995's "Rumplestiltskin," and multiple films called "The Tooth Fairy.

Following the surprising success of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, and with Peter Pan about to join the horror genre, another iconic pop culture character brought to fame by Disney is preparing for a terrifying new version. Cinderella, the famous princess, will have her dark remake.

Known as one of the most popular fairy tales in history, the tale of the Grimm brothers has become a legend around the world, with various versions both in animated and live-action format. The most famous, obviously, came in 1950 from the House of Mouse. In fact, it was one of the company's first animated films to have its live-action remake.

Now, Cinderella will return to the screen after Camila Cabello revived the character in 2021, but with a very different tone. The media specialized in horror films, Bloody Disgusting, announced that filming will begin next month for Cinderella's Curse, the gory version of the famous story.

Classic children’s tales including Winnie the Pooh and How the Grinch Stole Christmas have been (unofficially) turned into bloody horror films in the recent past, and Cinderella is next finding herself on the chopping block. Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report today that Cinderella is getting the horror treatment with upcoming movie Cinderella’s Curse.

Coming soon from ChampDog Films, Cinderella’s Curse is going up for sale at AFM, and Bloody Disgusting has also learned that ITN Studios will be releasing the film in October 2023.
