The villain of "Daredevil: Born Again" is once more Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's few recurring villains. Fisk has gone from ruling the underworld to becoming the Mayor of New York City, but crime boss or not, he's still the Kingpin.

Yet there's been another bad guy operating in the shadows: Muse, a masked serial killer that paints graffiti murals from his victims' drained blood. (Murals actually drawn by the real "Daredevil" artist David Mack.) He even dresses like an artist, with a black beanie hat and blood stains on his costume splattered like paint.

Wilson Fisk entered his mayoral tenure in New York City with the agenda that vigilante violence and vigilante justice are something that needs to be curbed by any means necessary, the character, indirectly, singled out The Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man during his campaign. Muse actually ends up helping Mayor Fisk with his shenanigans, which the former leverages to push his anti-vigilante agenda.

One thing Daredevil: Born Again fans have locked in on is how Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock is once more having a crisis of faith. Matt has been going through the motions, nodding back to the Netflix days. Villains are once more causing immense tragedy and loss.

Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 15, "Too Close" upholds a long-running tradition on the NBC show: killing characters off. Anyone who's watched the series consistently knows that people die in and around Firehouse 51 on a regular basis. It's the writers' way of keeping things fresh, and also reminding viewers that firefighters have a lethal job. This latest death, though, will leave fans reeling for a few different reasons.

What's interesting is that most of the drama in "Too Close" revolves around a different firehouse. Firehouse 20 is front and center because of Kelly Severide's half-brother, Jack Damon. Meanwhile, Severide and Stella Kidd are completing their adoption vetting process.

Following a delay due to behind-the-scenes creative differences, the MCU’s highly anticipated Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, is finally here to reintroduce the hero. Given Daredevil’s street-level roots in the comics, Kevin Feige has chosen to film on practical sets within New York City itself, which will no doubt lend the series the air of realism that permeates Daredevil’s stories in Marvel Comics.

However, even White Tiger is set to appear in the MCU series. Kathleen Quinlan and Michelle Hurd are joining Jen Lilley in the cast of “Holiday Hearts,” an upcoming holiday film set to release just in time for Christmas.

Quinlan is an Oscar-nominated actor known for her work in “Apollo 13,” “The Doors,” “How to Get Away With Murder” and “Prison Break,” while Hurd has starred in “Blindspot,” “Star Trek: Picard” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

“Holiday Hearts” is directed by Ross Kagan Marks and marks Lilley’s first holiday-themed film of the year. The story is based on Dana Volney’s novella, “A Heart for the Holidays,” which follows Silver Morgenstern (Lilley), a heart surgeon who returns to her hometown and meets a man with terminal illness at a local hospital. Quinlan will play Silver’s tough mother, and Hurd is set to play a veteran surgeon who goes toe-to-toe with Silver at work.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is packed with a score of characters who more than deserve their own Disney Plus show.

The MCU franchise has been known for a lot of great supporting characters. Some are drawn from the comics, while others are more original, but they all shine nicely, adding to the narrative in ways that are often unexpected. Some are able to rise up thanks to the actors, while others sadly don’t get the attention they should. Thankfully, with Disney Plus expanding the horizons of the shared universe with so many new TV shows over the past few years, there are more opportunities for folks to rise up and get some of that long-overdue spotlight.

With the release of the official trailer for Daredevil: Born Again, interest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has spiked once again. It promises to be an expansion on everything fans already loved about both the character and the original Netflix series. According to the actors, it's going to match the darker tone of the original - which is good, as many had concerns that moving it to Disney+ would defang some of the characters and be a disservice to the story. Though it struggled a bit through the early stages of its production, Daredevil: Born Again very well could be one of the strongest Disney+ shows.

Though fans are excited to see their favorite characters again, they are perhaps just as thrilled at the idea of meeting new citizens of Hell's Kitchen.

During their Consumer Electronics Show (CES) presentation last night, Naughty Dog head Neil Druckmann officially announced that The Last of Us season two will debut this coming April, exclusively on HBO and streaming on Max.

The second season will consist of seven episodes, and while we don't have an exact premiere date just yet, we'd imagine the series returns sometime in mid-April, in the same release window Game of Thrones used to occupy during its run.

The British actress was barely out of drama school when she got cast in the 1996 comedic drama playing Hortense, a Black middle-class professional who was adopted as a baby and, after the death of her parents, decides to track down her birth mother. Hortense discovers Cynthia (Brenda Blethyn) a working-class white woman and barely functional alcoholic with a very dysfunctional family. The contrast between Blethyn’s Cynthia, all twitching nerves, emotionally raw and vulnerable, and the calm, restrained, often bemused performance of Jean-Baptiste as Hortense forms the emotional core of the film.

Secrets and Lies premiered in Cannes, where it won the Palme d’Or en route to an awards season that would end with five Oscar nominations, including a best actress nod for Jean-Baptiste. Her career was officially launched.

Exclusive: Emmy Award winner Archie Panjabi will star as a villain in Season 2 of Doctor Who, sources tell Deadline. The BBC and Disney+ series is set to return in 2025.

Panjabi joins Ncuti Gatwa, who currently stars as the titular Time Lord; Millie Gibson, who plays his companion Ruby Sunday; and Varada Sethu, who will serve as the fifteenth Doctor co-companion Belinda Chandra.

Prolific writer, director and producer Greg Berlanti spoke of his personal journey and lifelong love of television when receiving the 2024 Governors Award at the Emmy Awards.

“I wanted to be a part of television even before I knew how that was possible,” the 52-year-old showrunner, one of the youngest individual recipients of the award, said in his emotional speech. “So many Gen X kids in the 70s and 80s, the one color TV our family could afford was on around the clock in our house, and I watched and loved all of it.”

Exclusive: Tasha Smith (Bad Boys: Ride or Die), Chris Perfetti (Abbott Elementary), Francois Arnaud (Yellowjackets), Susan Park (Shining Vale) and Cree (Turtles All the Way Down) are the newest additions to the cast of Twinless, the dark comedy that James Sweeney wrote and is directing for Republic Pictures.

Details as to the newcomers’ roles are under wraps. As previously announced, Dylan O’Brien, Aisling Franciosi, Lauren Graham and Sweeney will also star in the film, which follows two young men who strike up an unlikely bromance after meeting in a twin bereavement support group.

David Permut and Sweeney are producing, with O’Brien and Miky Lee serving exec producing. Three Point Capital is financing the pic with Ali Jazayeri, David Gendron and Liz Destro also serving as executive producers. Alex Astrachan, Director of Development at Permut Presentations, is co-producer. Casting Director is Jessica Munks. Republic Pictures has worldwide rights to the film.

Flight Attendant. Berlanti Productions has had a record-breaking 15 shows on the air at one time.

Berlanti has engineered many cultural television-industry firsts via his passion for including the invisible and underrepresented in his storytelling.

Greg Berlanti will receive the 2024 Governors Award, the Television Academy announced on Thursday. The award, which he will take home at the 76th Emmy Awards on Sept. 15, is in recognition of his contributions to television since he got his start as a staff writer on “Dawson’s Creek” in 1998.

Among the 45 TV series that Berlanti has since created, written or exec-produced (or some combination of all three) are “Brothers and Sisters,” “Dirty Sexy Money,” “Arrow,” “Blindspot,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “Everwood,” “You,” “Titans,” “Riverdale,” “Doom Patrol,” “All American” and “Found.” His work often centers members of the LGBTQ+ community. “Dawson’s Creek” featured the first same-sex kiss between two men on American network television, for instance, and his fall NBC series “Brilliant Minds” has the first single gay lead in an American medical drama.

One of his more recent projects, “Red, White and Royal Blue,” earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Television Movie in July.

Gabriel Olds has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting three women whom he dated between 2013 and 2023, with seven felony counts against him.

The 52-year-old actor, who played televangelist Pat Robertson in the 2021 film “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” was arrested on Wednesday and was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

The D.A. is recommending he be held on $3.5 million bail. If convicted, he faces a maximum life sentence.

Olds is charged with three counts of forcible rape; one count of rape of an unconscious or asleep person; one count of sodomy by use of force; one count of assault with intent to commit a felony; and one count of injuring a spouse, cohabitant, fiancé, boyfriend, girlfriend, or child’s parent, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.

Lucas Bryant, Bruce Davison and Michelle Hurd will lead the ensemble cast for the family-centric comedy feature 25 Miles to Normal.

Artist View Entertainment has acquired writer-director Joshua Brandon’s movie, which begins shooting this month in Kansas City and St. Joseph, Missouri. Rachel Nichols, Ed Begley Jr. and Dee Wallace round out the ensemble cast.

Former Berlanti Prods. exec Ryan Lindenberg, who played a hand in the creation of hits such as The CW’s “All American,” Netflix’s “You” and NBC’s “Blindspot,” has joined 5X Media as a scripted partner/producer.

5X is the company launched in January 2023 by founder Scott Einbinder (who is now executive chairman), while Alon Shtruzman and Gil Goldschein now serve as co-CEOs. At 5X, which is an international production studio, talent management and TV/film sales company, Lindenberg will focus on producing scripted television, developing and producing for the feature and digital arenas, while also moving into the new role of collaborating with managers worldwide, securing formats and participating in sales.

“Ryan is a huge get for 5X, a versatile and incredible talent who can enable us to succeed in executing our growth strategy across each of our core scripted areas of focus,” said Shtruzman and Goldschein in a joint statement.
