The phrase "The Once And Future King" is taken from the title of T.H. White's four book series of Arthurian tales, the first of which was used as the basis for Disney's La espada en la piedra (1963). White derived his title from the inscription that, according to Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, was written upon King Arthur's tomb: "Here lies Arthur, king once, and king to be." It was White who first described Merlin as living through time backwards; an idea revisited by Joe Cornish in this movie.

Errores
Throughout the movie they are counting down to an upcoming solar eclipse. Yet the Moon each night gets more and more full with it being completely full the night before the eclipse. A solar eclipse can only happen on a new Moon approximately two weeks away from a full moon.

Really good fun family film

My wife and I watched this and really enjoyed it. It was a wet dreary day outside on a bank holiday Monday so this was a good way to spend it. Love how it was all set in the UK. Yes its King Arthur etc but that would not normally stop them from ending up in the USA at some point.

There was some great moments in the movie like making the round table by lifting the sides on a normal table and Excalibur coming out the bath... very clever and witty.

The special effects were also excellent especially the demon horse riders... really good stuff and of course its always good to see Partick Stewart but all the actors were great such as leading role Louis Ashbourne Serkis and Young Merlin (Angus Imrie)

A very good family movie and well worth watching
