Majida Issa went through heavy sing and dance training in order to prepare for her role as Alejandra Guzmán. She had to study all of Alejandra's concerts, interviews and other media in order to learn all her mannerisms, although it's been said that she did a little overacting in some scenes.
The series portrays Alejandra Guzmán's life and career from the late 1970's to early 2010s.
Except for her mother, brother and daughter, and some well-known and respected artists, all the names in the series were drastically changed.
Majida Issa and Carmen Madrid play daughter and mother roles respectively in the series, yet Issa is 20 years older in comparison.
Majida Issa stated in many interviews that portraying Alejandra Guzmán was the hardest role she has been given; not only she had to learn to talk like a Mexican (Issa is from Colombia), she also had to learn the mannerisms of drug addicts on and off rehab. She also stated that Alejandra's role was emotionally demanding considering that Guzmán faced many depressive episodes.
