Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas’ film Guntur Kaaram opened at almost 41 crore in India. Defying all the assumptions and ditching all the negative criticism, the opening numbers sailed and how. Interestingly, on the first day itself, the actor-director duo made a record for themselves.

Before the action drama, which also stars Sreeleela, Ramya Krishnan, and others, Trivikram Srinivas collaborated with Mahesh Babu twice. They first came together in 2005 with Athadu.

After Athadu, Trivikram Srinivas and Mahesh Babu collaborated for Khaleja in 2010. After 14 years, they have come together for the action drama Guntur Kaaram, which registered a collection of 41 crore on day 1 and is expected to collect almost 13 – 15 crore on day 2.

Mahesh Babu is winning hearts with his latest release, Guntur Kaaram. One of the richest actors in Tollywood, he currently owns a net worth of 300 crore. The actor made his film debut in 1999 with Raja Kumarudu and shot to fame overnight. The film was a commercial success and also starred Preity Zinta in the lead role.

After Guntur Kaaram, the superstar will be seen in SS Rajamouli‘s film, for which he is reportedly charging almost 125 crore! Interestingly, he was paid only 75 lakh for his first film. Now, over the years, he has accumulated a net worth of millions, boasting of some of the most expensive things.

Mahesh Babu currently owns a net worth of almost 300 crore, which is an unimaginable jump from his asset worth in 2005. The actor will also inherit almost 48 crore from his family.

Mumbai, Aug 10 (Ians) Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood helped a 65-year-old man from Bihar to help him clear his debts.

The man named Khilanand Jha travelled all the way to Mumbai only to meet Sonu, whom he fondly refers to as ‘Gareebo Ka Masiha’ or the Messiah of the Poor.

Jha’s story, riddled with struggles and financial burdens, touched Sonu’s heart, prompting him to lend him a helping hand.

For the unversed, Jha’s wife, Minoti Paswan, passed away earlier this year after a paralytic stroke, leaving him with a debt of Rs 12 lakh for her medical expenses. With creditors demanding the clearance of payment, he sought Sonu’s assistance after hearing about his efforts to help the less fortunate during the pandemic.

Jha, accompanied by his son, recently met Sonu at his office.

The actor empathised with the elderly man’s situation and readily agreed to offer him support.

Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood shared a video of himself giving a baby in Himachal Pradesh a piggyback ride.

Sonu took to Instagram, where he shared the video. In the clip he is seen asking the name of the baby to the mother. He then puts the baby on his back with the help of a cloth he ties him around.

Sonu then walks around, and is seen telling the baby that he is taking him to Bombay. He tells the baby “Bombay actor banne jaa rahe hai.” He is then heard telling others: “Naya Roadie aa gaya hai.”

For the caption, Sonu wrote: “Any job of a babysitter. I am the best attractive packages available.”

Sonu shared the video from Kaza in Himachal Pradesh, where he is currently shooting for the youth-based reality show ‘MTV Roadies – Karm Ya Kaand’.

Mumbai, July 30 (Ians) On Sonu Sood’s 50th birthday on Saturday, his fans have organised a blood donation drive across the country.

A statement read: “Inspired by Sonu Sood’s relentless dedication to helping those in need, his fans have organised a large-scale blood donation drive to observe his birthday. Across the country, an astounding 800 to 900 blood camps have been set up to collect this precious gift of life.”

“The gesture symbolises not just a celebration of their beloved actor’s birthday but also a tribute to his selfless commitment towards the welfare of the people.”

In addition to the blood donation drive, some of them are all primed to go the extra mile by distributing food to the disadvantaged. The food distribution drive marks yet another reflection of the love and admiration that people have for Sonu.

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has shared how Celebrity Cricket League (Ccl) has helped the actors explore opportunities in regional cinema and opened new avenues for them. Work on director Trivikram Srinivas’s upcoming Telugu action entertainer, featuring actors Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde in the lead, began on Monday.

The film, which has huge expectations riding on it, is being tentatively referred to as #SSMB28. S Radhakrishna (China Babu) is producing the film under the production house Haarika & Hassine Creations.

This is the third time that Mahesh Babu and Trivikram Srinivas are working together. They have worked together twice prior to this film and both the films that they worked on together — ‘Athadu’ and ‘Khaleja’ — went on to become massive blockbusters.

Their combination has raised expectations from this film as well.

Trivikram has penned a story on a subject that’s never been presented on screen before for this film. Mahesh Babu, sources say, will appear in a never-before-seen character in the film.

The superstar is to sport a rugged avatar with long hair and a beard.

TollywoodWhile it is not a pathbreaking, breath-taking political drama, 'Ban' is likable for the subtle acting and situational comedy.Krishna SripadaThe first time Bharat Ram (Mahesh Babu), travelling in his convoy, looks at Vasumati (Kiara Advani) at the bus-stop, he cranes his neck with a subtle enthusiasm which reminds the viewer that here is a Chief Minister, who is like anyone of his age. The second time, he asks his Ps to guess what she would be wearing; when he turns out to be right, Bharat chuckles and enjoys a hi-five. That subtlety is the theme of the movie – what would the well-educated, honest man, who believes in keeping promises and being accountable, do if he were the Cm? Only, you can see the veil of fans’ expectations weighing on the makers. Koratala Siva’s Bharat Ane Nenu, despite its heavy-sounding title is not a Leader-style political saga. To borrow Bharat’s favourite term in the movie, the plot is ‘a simple answer’ to the heavy-handed Indian political quagmire. The movie is not a Go-game of strategies and counter strategies, far from it. The movie is not about Mahesh delivering one punch dialogue after another, reminding everyone that he is the boss; he never does. The beauty of the movie is in its subtlety, a trait that has stayed with Mahesh throughout his career in gems like Athadu, Okkadu, Khaleja, etc. Mahesh’s acting has always been about being the eye of the storm – plenty happening around him, even as he is quiet - elegantly and stylishly quiet and subtle. While being let-down by his makeup crew in several scenes, Mahesh continues to be the same charming actor. In Bharat Ane Nenu, Bharat is thrust into the role of a Cm due to the sudden demise of his father (Sarathkumar) and upon the insistence of his father’s best friend Varadaraju (Prakash Raj), a kingmaker of sorts. Interestingly, and as Mahesh’s character in the movie acknowledges, the road for him is simple – not to take the path of excuses blaming our population, but to bring the accountability that he has grown up witnessing in London. With five educational degrees to his credit, Bharat insists, very likably for a Telugu movie hero, that he likes acknowledging when he doesn’t know something, and yet, is a fast learner. Rao Ramesh’s character, playing Vasumati’s father rightly remarks, ‘Rajakeeya nayukudu anukunna, nayukudu’ (We thought, he is a political leader; but, he is a leader). Bharat’s own party men (and the barely present party-women, who exchange low-iq barbs on each other – why else would we need women MLAs, huh?!) wait for an opportune moment and mistake from his side. Insert a meme laughing at those people who expect our hero to make mistakes! Bharat Ane Nenu almost demonstrates Mahesh’s inner conflict – make a good movie, please the fans. All the parts where he is on his own, trademark subtle comedy and sophisticated dialogue delivery, the movie impresses. Every point that has been inserted into the movie for the fans – the needless song with a heroine whose character is only a plot-device and a prop, the punch-a-dozen-people-who-won’t-use-automatic weapons-and-insist-on-knives-and-sickles routine, and the populist track sung by villagers adoring their Cm (now a Koratala Siva trademark) – take away from the movie. It is almost as if the actor cannot escape the cage in which his fans have incarcerated him, forcing things in the movie that are pointless and illogical. I think, our superstars should read about the Midas Touch – first you want a fan base and when you have it, you can barely breathe or do anything of your own anymore. Tch tch! Bharat Ane Nenu’s editing is simplistic and barring Mahesh’s, not much character building is initiated. An opportunity is lost while dealing with Varadaraju’s character – barely any detailing going into the nature of a man who has more shades than one. The movie, while being watchable, suffers from predictability – its biggest surprise being the absence of surprises. All the politicians are black. The hero is immaculately white. The people are sheep. The journalists are popcorn-sellers. The step-mom doesn’t care. Whenever this monotone is broken, the movie sparkles – like in Mahesh’s press conference scene, where he stands, consistent to his character like the man who always speaks common sense, simple sense. Mahesh’s performance in that scene as an educated man reasoning with unreasonable people while simmering with anger will stand out as one of the highlights of his career. While it is not a pathbreaking, breath-taking political drama, Bharat Ane Nenu is likable for the subtle acting and situational comedy which can make the exaggeration-addicted Telugu audience laugh if they are bought into the story. The movie falls short in emotional moments, more due to indifference of the makers than due to the lack of scope - moments we found dime-a-dozen in Koratala Siva’s Mirchi and Srimanthudu. Is an actor like Prakash Raj bored of all this, yet, is another question that troubled this writer. Kiara has screen-presence, despite barely being given half a dozen dialogues. The Ost doesn’t leave you with much that is memorable. In the end, Mahesh is left with too much to do. Unintentionally, or by design, only the makers will know! Chennai, July 20: High on commercial value, the slick trailer of Pawan Kalyan-starrer Telugu action-drama "Attarintiki Daaredhi" is a mix of action, comedy, romance and drama in appropriate proportions.

The trailer, which released Friday, promises that the film will entertain audiences when it hits the screens in August.

Directed by Trivikram, who is known for action films such as "Athadu" and "Julayi", "Attarintiki Daaredhi" appears to be an out-and-out entertainer with an apt tagline "celebration of entertainment".

The film will be the second collaboration between Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram after blockbuster.
