It’s been a decade since the release of Judd Apatow’s comedic drama “This Is 40,” which examined the lives of a middle-aged married couple, and Apatow is ready to find out what Pete and Debbie are up to at 50.
“I’ve always wanted to make ‘This Is 50’ and it is time,” Apatow told TheWrap during an interview for his upcoming Netflix film “The Bubble.” The filmmaker said back in 2013 that he was interested in revisiting the family at the center of “This Is 40” in a further sequel, especially checking in on the family’s daughters (played by Apatow’s real-life daughters Maude and Iris Apatow).
Apatow told TheWrap that the timing is right for “This Is 50,” and he’s been hard at work outlining what the story would be.

Judd Apatow has hammered a multi-year production film and TV pact across NBCUniversal including Universal Pictures and Universal Studio Group. The parties’ working relationship began with 2005’s $177 million-plus grossing comedy blockbuster The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Apatow’s movies have grossed close to $3 billion around the world, the studio’s most successful original comedies.
Apatow is currently in post-production on the Billy Eichner-starring, Nick Stoller-directed Bros, which he produced. The movie is the first major studio film to feature an all LGBTQ+ principal cast. The movie hits theaters on September 30.
On the TV side, the new deal will cover Apatow’s work for both internal and external networks, including NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock. Multiple projects are in development including Dystrophia, a co-production between Utv and A24, starring comedian Steve Way (Ramy) and co-written with Jonathan Braylock and Ramy Youssef. Youssef is also producing with Apatow through his Cairo Cowboy production company.

It seems like only yesterday the 20 returning “Survivor” champions returned for an epic clash in “Winners at War,” but now we’ve already reached the Season 40 finale. Heading into Wednesday’s three-hour event, only five castaways remained in the running to win the $2 million prize: Ben Driebergen, Denise Stapley, Michele Fitzgerald, Sarah Lacina and Tony Vlachos. But there were 14 players living on the Edge of Extinction who were itching for their chance to return to the game: Natalie Anderson, Amber Mariano, Danni Boatwright, Ethan Zohn, Rob Mariano, Parvati Shallow, Yul Kwon, Wendell Holland, Adam Klein, Tyson Apostol, Sophie Clarke, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Jeremy Collins and Nick Wilson. The 20th contestant, Sandra Diaz-Twine, quit after being voted out on Day 16.

Natalie Anderson is the richest woman on “Survivor: Winners at War,” at least in terms of fire tokens. Having collected a whopping 14 tokens since being voted out on Day 2, she now has several advantages going into the finale’s big re-entry challenge. As seen in last week’s penultimate episode, she bought three advantages for the upcoming challenge, a jar of peanut butter and a hidden Immunity Idol which she gave to Tyson Apostol just in case he won, having already purchased one for herself earlier. All of these are likely reasons why she is the definitive frontrunner to get back into the game in Wednesday’s “Survivor: Winners at War” finale.
Natalie has 4/9 odds of being the Edge of Extinction returnee, according to Gold Derby’s latest odds. In the opinion of our users, no one else is even close to being in that top position. Tyson is in the no.

“Survivor” fan-fave Yul Kwon, aka the winner of “Cook Islands” 14 years ago and current front-runner to claim victory on “Winners at War,” is blasting the reality TV show for his lack of screen time in the second episode. “Should I feel sad that, for the purposes of screen time, all the strategizing I did last episode was apparently less interesting than breadfruit?” Yul asked with a wink on Instagram. “I bet if breadfruit had an Instagram account, it would have more followers than me.” All jokes aside, do you agree that Yul deserves to be seen more on Season 40? Sound off down in the comments section.

“Survivor” host Jeff Probst doesn’t hold back when describing Rob Mariano‘s controversial antics in the second episode of “Winners at War.” “If you ever want to see a mob-type mafia boss move, [it’s in] tribal council episode two,” Jeff explains in the video above about how the show’s so-called Godfather told everybody to “empty their bags.” Boston Rob’s decision to try to flush out a hidden immunity idol has been met with controversy by viewers — was it a genius move or did it go too far? Give us your take down in the comments section.

Thirty years ago this month, Aerosmith’s “Janie’s Got a Gun” peaked on the Hot 100, reaching Number Four — just below Paula Abdul’s “Opposites Attract,” Seduction’s “Two to Make It Right” and Rod Stewart’s “Downtown Train.” It was an uncharacteristically dark single for the band, with themes of incest, child abuse, and revenge murder.
This was a period where the band worked a lot with outside songwriters like Desmond Child and Jim Vallance, but Steven Tyler and bassist Tom Hamilton wrote the song on their own. Steven...

Oscar nomination, schmoscar nomination. There’s no Academy for this, but Jennifer Lopez, in tandem with Shakira, earned some kind of unofficial award Sunday night for managing to pull off something no other performer has in years: convince a wide plurality of America it made the right collective choice not to click over to the Puppy Bowl.
In 14 minutes of pure frenzy, the duo and their guest stars, J Balvin and Bad Bunny, celebrated Latin music on the Super Bowl’s world stage while also giving the Fox nation the old-fashioned American show-biz virtues of choreography, choreography and more choreography. Hooray for Colombia, Puerto Rico and Hollywood — take your pick, or take ‘em all.
In a possible nod to “Hustlers,” or maybe just a fulfillment of the laws of inevitability, there was pole dancing… classy pole dancing. Not to leave raciness out of the equation entirely, there was also a wholesome variation on dirty dancing.
