Frances Faye sings the title song backed by the Harry Brent Orchestra and some dancers in spangly outfits in this soundie.
Soundies were music videos forty years before MTV was around. From 1940 through 1946, you could find them on a device called a Mills Panaram in bars, night clubs, and similar establishments. Drop in a dime and you got one three-minute short from a loop of ten. Most were musical numbers, but there were comedy skits and jugglers. Several movie stars got their first screen exposure in soundies, like Doris Day and Ricardo Montalban.
Miss Faye was a cabaret artist. She gives a fast, loud, jitterbug version of the song.
