After hearing this show get hyped up for years I finally had to give it a try. It entertaining but I had some problems with it. From the start John Dutton is plain evil. He is glorified as a kind of anti hero like Tony Soprano or Avon Barksdale but his crimes seem darker while the series makes it less obvious that he is to be seen as a bad guy. Also enough with the country music. I get it, its set in Montana but country music is God awful and its non stop throughout the show. You dont see this in any other show to that degree. Just knock it off. Its like nails on a chalkboard. Also its hard to identify with Beth when you dont explain why she's so nasty until season 3. All that said I am obviojsly still watching. Just muting the hee haw music.

As a fan of the video game series from the very start I am confused as to why there are so many negative reviews. I suspect that there was some group of kids who organized this over social media to mass downvote this show. I also suspect some of the hate is because of the diverse cast. I hope I am wrong about that last part. I wasnt a bog fan of the movies. I thought they were below average at best. Not like the games at all. But this show is a great adaptation of the games and tells the story in a compelling way with a great cast. I really liked this and hope it gets renewed.
