The Hellraiser franchise has made over $55,864,723 in box office revenue from its first four films which has made Pinhead a terrifying horror icon. When any actor has embodied an iconic character for an extended period of time, it’s only understandable that fans sometimes have difficulty adjusting to their successors. Even in the case of a vastly talented performer like Jackie Earle Haley, there were many who just couldn’t accept someone playing Freddy Krueger other than Robert Englund. Likewise, we ask for no tears, please, regarding the third actor to play Pinhead – it’s a waste of good suffering.

As you may or may not know, Paul T. Taylor has been hired to portray the most recognizable of all Cenobites in the upcoming Hellraiser: Judgment, which happens to be the tenth installment in the franchise that originated in the mind of the one and only Clive Barker. This time, though, it’s a returning Gary J. Tunnicliffe, director of 2011’s Revelations, who’ll be taking us from the pinnacle to the pit.

Later this year, Hellraiser: Judgment will have the honor of becoming the 10th instalment in Dimension’s cult horror series, but allegations of animal cruelty have threatened to cast a shadow over the Gary J. Tunnicliffe-directed flick.

Ahead of its long-anticipated release, Tunnicliffe recently appeared on the latest episode of The Movie Crypt podcast to drum up Judgment‘s arrival, not to mention all of the brutal terrors that lie in wait – hell, one actress almost passed out because a scene was so intense.

That sequence in question reportedly involves a small dog, and while Tunnicliffe explicitly stated that the animal “doesn’t get hurt” whatsoever, a vocal minority misconstrued the director’s comments, before claiming that Hellraiser: Judgment contains scenes of animal torture. That couldn’t be further from the truth, though, according to Gary J. Tunnicliffe, who tackled those allegations in a new interview with Dread Central.

When Gary J. Tunnicliffe waxes lyrical on the Hellraiser series, it’s worth standing up and taking notice.

Now on the verge of its tenth instalment, Hellraiser: Judgment, Tunnicliffe recently appeared on the latest episode of The Movie Crypt podcast (h/t Bloody Disgusting), in which the series veteran and frequent make-up artist teased some of the brutal horrors in store.

Directing from his own script, Hellraiser: Judgment is very much a passion project for Tunnicliffe, who told hosts Adam Green and Joe Lynch that he’s never had as much fun – nor has he worked so hard – during the production of Judgment. And yes, the end product will be fluent in scares and gruesome deaths.

I had the most fun on that I’ve ever had, and I’ve never worked so hard on a Hellraiser film, but we had a great time. We did two sequences where… one the actress almost passed out…...

Exclusive: Gravitas Ventures has secured worldwide rights to The Summoning, a supernatural thriller written and helmed by Alberto G. Rodriguez, and has attached a January 10 release date. Starring Eric Roberts, the pic, based on hauntings around the town of Sugar Land TX, follows law student Rachel Iverson who places her life in danger while investigating the disappearance of another law student Clayton Ward and Chief Lubbock who assigns Detective Jonathan Silva to her case. Leila Almas, Jaime Zevallos, Razaaq Adoti, Rheagan Wallace, Aaron Perilo and Katherine Castro co-star.

Brian T. Jaynes (Boggy Creek) has released the third trailer for his feature Humans Versus Zombies, which puts several zombe game players into the real thing. The

zombie apocalypse breaks up relationships while taking lives in this thrilling clip. Recently Humans Versus Zombies has secured a theatrical distribution deal and this title is expected to release in November of this year. For now, enjoy this entertaining reel that shows several victims of a zombie plague. That poor Megan!

We've been covering this cool looking zombie fest which to me runs along the lines of The Walking Dead, yeah it looks that good people! The film stars Madison Burge, Melissa Carnell, Frederic Doss, Chip Joslin, Jonah Priour, Jesse Ferrard, Rheagan Wallace, Larry Jack Dotson, Ali Faulkner and Matt Downs. Feast your eyes on poster 1/3! This second Humans Versus Zombies trailer focuses in on a central character, named Frank (Frederic Doss). Frank uses his security training as a police officer to diminish the zombie hordes. Aroused by the apocalypse, this gun-toting human killing machine philosophizes about flesh-eating anarchy, in this two minute clip below.
