The actress posted a TikTok about her experience and insinuated that Underwood purposely rejected her because of her connection to Swift, who welcomed Cash onstage at her Eras tour in July 2023 to celebrate the release of the “I Can See You” video. In the video, Cash was seemingly practicing for her audition in her bedroom, but she revealed in a chunk of text over the clip that there was “tea” to spill. She claimed that she was sought after by Idol producers for months, only to be turned away once she actually auditioned.

American Idol 2025: Which Contestants Made It To Top 24?

Amanda Barise, a 26 year old musician from Manhattan was picked among the top 24. She was joined by Bailey Littrel, a 21 year old college student from Atlanta as well as Breanna Nix, a 25 year old stay at home mother from Denton.

Presley Cash, who is best known for starring in two Taylor Swift music videos, is calling out the producers and judges of American Idol after she was rejected by the show.

For those who don’t know, Presley was just 13-years-old when she appeared in the “Mean” music video for Taylor and she also starred in the “I Can See You” video back in 2023. She made a special appearance on stage at the Eras Tour when the music video was premiered in the middle of a Kansas City show.

Presley is an aspiring singer who shares her music on TikTok and other social media pages. She auditioned for the 2025 season of American Idol and claims that producers “groomed” her for six months leading up to the audition.

After being rejected by the judges, Presley is calling out those involved, including Carrie Underwood.

ABC announced plans for its special three-hour episode, which will feature the remaining hopefuls performing songs of faith in hopes of earning viewer votes. Despite the possibility that the contestants in the top 20 may not all celebrate Easter, the show is leaning into the holiday by having the artists sing “faith-inspired songs” in the live show. There will also be performances from CeCe Winans, Idol alum Roman Collins, Jelly Roll — who’s serving as the show’s artist in residence this season — Christian artist Brandon Lake, and The Brown Four. Plus, judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood will all take the stage for performances of their own. Viewers will get to vote for their favorite contestants to determine who will move on in the competition.

Three artists — Kolbi Jordan, Filo, and Canaan James Hill — got to skip this round after winning the platinum tickets during their auditions. Of the 144 remaining hopefuls, only 62 were chosen to move on to the next round, which meant that more than half of the artists were cut by judges Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan. Everyone gathered at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles to compete in the Idol Arena, where they all gave solo performances. On this past Sunday's episode, contestant JMarie auditioned with a more soulful version of Underwood's hit single "Before He Cheats."
