Idris Elba, Deepak Chopra, Katherine Ryan, Wyclef Jean, Tems, Jenn Nkiru, Jean-Michel Jarre and Joe Wicks are among the speakers set for the first edition of South by Southwest London this summer.

“Attendees will hear from industry leaders at the cutting edge of what is new and future facing alongside some of the world’s biggest talent from across music, film, tech and culture at the inaugural festival in Shoreditch,” said SXSW organizers in a statement. “SXSW London will include everything that attendees have come to expect from SXSW including talks, music and screen, alongside a focus on new themes, including visual arts and fashion.”

The conference program is set to present ideas about the intersection of tech, creativity, arts and business. The YouTuber-owned The Fellas Studios has cemented its place as the industry’s premier video podcast network after a £1.5million investment, including backing from Ksi and fellow YouTube superstars the Sidemen.

The Studio, owned by YouTubers Callum Airey (known as Calfreezy) and Joshua Larkin (The Burnt Chip), has been a key driving force in placing video as the key format for chart-topping podcasts.

With Airey and Larkin joining forces for the studio’s flagship show ‘The Fellas Podcast’, they also boast ‘Saving Grace’ – which is led by TikTok star Grace Keeling and enjoyed a sold-out theatre tour this year. Other properties include ‘Chloe vs The World’ starring social media phenomenon Chloe Burrows and ‘Not My Bagg’ featuring former Gogglebox stars Joe and George Bagg.

They’re also a major voice in digital sports broadcasting, with two football shows in ‘The Club’ and ‘Pitch Side’ and ‘The Last Lap’, an F1 property.

YouTube star Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson, who has amassed 12.5 million subscribers thanks to social experiments and stunts that often involve large sums of cash, just hosted a competition pitting some of the platform’s buzziest popular stars against one another for a $100,000 prize.

In short, the 12 YouTubers -- Leon Lush, Danny Duncan, Caspar Lee, Alex Ernst, Mini Ladd, Joogsquad, Faze Rug, Faze Rain, Faze Adapt, Callux, WillNE, Ricegum, and Faze Tfue -- had to simply stand in a spray-painted circle for as long as possible. It's a concept that Donaldson has explored on his channel before -- but this time, contestants weren't allowed to sit down, and, every hour, they were saddled with 1 pound of weight onto a special vest that each was wearing.
