Chomp

An obsessive fan of a zombie apocalypse survivalist manages to capture the world's first live zombie, her ticket to getting to appear on her hero's basic cable public access show. Yet the zombie is not what he appears.

A clever twist on the zombie motif with a twist ending. Also manages to skewer cable television pundits, self-assigned experts, and the culture of reality TV with an in-your-face performance by Wynkoop. The story doesn't waste any time, covering a lot in twelve minutes. Hansen (writer-director) has potential.

This story isn't scary--"horror" shorts rarely are--but is funny and ironic with at least four twists. (That's a twist every three minutes!) Hansen does a nice job of developing a simple concept that can be covered well in twelve minutes.

The main criticisms are ones common to all horror shorts, in that they're made on shoestring budgets with limited talent and capabilities. Most shorts are practice for filmmakers to learn their craft and showcase their capabilities, a demo for their resume. This film accomplishes that and is entertaining too.

Okay,So CHOMP is very funny,Then it's lurid and then …It's 'Disgustingly Hilarious' effort.

The cast is great,and on their marks for the viewers to like them and yet be alittle wary,Is she for real in her views,Could he be -Was he ? Joel D. Wynkoop , Is the name actor that moves production into the festival arena and wider audience level,Bravo !, Joel does that journeyman celeb thang so well and actually liked his character and could see him in a sequel someday .

Watched as a judge for Fantastic Film Festival San Diego and can say CHOMP deserves to be placed in competition,But only one judge's opinion so far and Can't predict,But wish CHOMP all my best wishes during festival season.

The film begins with Dr. Joncroft on his television show "The Pitbulls and Zombies Hour" and then cuts to a garage where a young man has just awakened. He has no idea how he got there and an elderly woman, Millie, is thrilled that her 'zombie' has just awoken! She can't wait to go on Dr. Joncroft's show! Unfortunately, the guy is not a zombie-- just a guy on his way to a Halloween party! And, no matter how hard he tries to convince her otherwise, she insists that he must be a zombie because her pitbull can sniff out zombies--and he's definitely one of them! Can the guy possibly escape from this demented woman? And, will Millie ever get her wish that she'll appear on the great Dr. Joncroft's show?!

This is a wonderful little comedy. The only problem is that it's so short and I really was left hoping for more!
