The movie follows a group of Swedish girls spending a week in Hamburg while a series of unforeseen events make their stay one they will not forget.
Pit (Mick Werup) is attracted to Lil (Tanja Scholl) and is struggling to make her notice him. Whether it is his friends playing some prank on him and jeopardizing his chance or undue circumstances, he seems to be unlucky when it comes to wooing Lil. Of course, it does not help her being infatuated with Dr. Heilmann (Carlos Stafford), the school teacher, who she sees as a "real man," unlike boys her age, including Pit. Lil will try to beguile Dr. Heilmann in different ways, utilizing her disposition to be undressed as her weapon of choice.
Directed by Walter Boos and written by George Elmer, Drei Schwedinnen auf der Reeperbahn is an honest comedy in its reach and, as such, never departs from the often predictable nature associated with its kind. This is not the place to look for profundity or deep messages. We are before events whose striking implausibility might serve as platforms for comedy, but the movie rarely succeeds in evoking laughs. Its humor relies on silly jokes and situations and slapstick. One could argue that by reason of its lacks, it leans heavily on nudity to keep the audience watching. Something that, if true, would place it under the label of exploitation film.
