Comedian, actress and screenwriter Jillian Bell makes her feature directorial debut with a hilarious tribute to classic teen films, presented through the female gaze.
In Summer of 69, Sam Morelos plays sexually inexperienced teen Abby Flores, who spends her time earning bank on a video game streaming platform called Glitch. When she finds out her lifelong crush Max (Matt Cornett) is finally single and overhears his favorite sexual position, she enlists the help of the bold, enterprising exotic dancer Santa Monica (Chloe Fineman) to teach her how to master her sexuality in a week, before they graduate and go separate ways.
What ensues is a modern sex romp with classic teen movie stakes. Not only does the film speak to beloved titles of decades past, but it mirrors the hilariously awkward first times and cringe tribulations of coming-of-age, especially for young women.
Bell nails her directorial debut with an assist from Fineman,...

In a world dominated by superhero movies, two revered filmmakers, Steven Spielberg and James Cameron, are a class apart. They have never delved into the blockbuster genre but have produced some of the highest-grossing films of all time. Over the years, both have gained the reputation as two of the greatest directors in cinema history. They also lead the list of highest-grossing directors of all time.
However, Steven Spielberg ranks as the #1 highest-grossing filmmaker of all time. James Cameron, who ranked #2, is $2 billion short of dethroning Spielberg, who has a seven-year lead in filmmaking against him.
Steven Spielberg has grossed over $10 billion worldwide, making him the highest-grossing film director in the world. Meanwhile, James Cameron came in second with over $8 Billion. Steven Spielberg grossed $10 billion with 37 films. However, Cameron grossed over $8 billion with only 14 films. Despite Steven Spielberg ranking as the top filmmaker, Cameron has more blockbusters.

How do you turn up the sexiness (and comedy) for a third “Magic Mike” film?
Look to Beyoncé and Amy Schumer, according to screenwriter Reid Carolin.
The upcoming finale to the “Magic Mike” trilogy, based on Channing Tatum’s experiences as an exotic dancer, is set to have a “strong” female protagonist and an untraditional love story at its heart.
Carolin looked to both Schumer and Beyoncé while crafting the “Magic Mike Live” musical showcase in Las Vegas, which launched in 2017.
“It’s almost like if an Amy Schumer stand-up comedy act merged with Beyonce’s backup dancers who just happened to take their shirts off, merged with ‘Alice in Wonderland,'” Carolin told Variety of the hit show. “It’s really about a woman stuck at a horrible strip show like a Chippendales and then realizing, ‘What the hell am I doing here?’ And then Magic Mike comes down from the ceiling.

“Don’t get in too much trouble, Ok?” the concerned groom-to-be (Paul W. Downs) tells his betrothed (Scarlett Johansson) as they say goodbye before her bachelorette weekend in Miami. “Yeah, I won’t,” she reassures him. But of course, there’d be no movie if that were the case.
Here is the first redband trailer for Rough Night (fka Rock That Body), a tale of distaff debauchery in the Bridesmaids/Bad Moms vein that (probably not) coincidentally arrives on International Women’s Day. It follows the decidedly R-rated misadventures of five best friends from college — Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer and Zoë Kravitz — who want to party down before they lose one of their own to marital bliss.
And party they do. “This weekend’s all about us — just like old times,” the fiancée tells them. But, just like Mom said, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
