Heading into “The Studio,” there was one episode that series star Ike Barinholtz was dreading. Funnily enough, “The War” is also one of the few episodes that almost completely revolves around Barinholtz’s Sal Saperstein.

“The thing that we did a couple of times that Ike wasn’t thrilled about was the chili,” series creator and star Seth Rogen told TheWrap.

“The War” focuses on just that — a war between two Continental employees who are both close with newly appointed studio head Matt Remick (Rogen). Matt’s longtime friend Sal and his former assistant Quinn (Chase Sui Wonders) come from two very different schools of thought. While Quinn is aligned with Matt’s vision to make great art, Sal is more interested in money-making blockbuster hits. Seth Rogen’s satirical comedy series The Studio is regarded as one of the favorite comedy series of 2025 so far. With a lot of cool cameos, The Studio is said to be a spot-on depiction of Hollywood since Robert Altman’s The Player. Rogen not only stars in the show as the lead but also directs the ten-episode show alongside Evan Goldberg.

The series premiered on March 26, 2025, and managed to impress the audience with its storyline, direction, and incredible performances by the actors. It goes on to showcase some of the hard-to-believe but real events that occur behind the cameras, probably in studio boardrooms, screening rooms, and, of course, restaurants.

While everyone’s praising the show with every episode, some have expressed their disappointment in the fifth episode, as it tends to sideline two of the most celebrated women in the entertainment industry.

It's an intimidating cast list, to be sure — and that's before you even get to the guest stars of Apple TV+'s The Studio, which reads like something out of a Hollywood Rolodex, if those still existed.

So it's perfectly understandable that Chase Sui Wonders, who plays career-hungry assistant-turned-executive Quinn, was "petrified," as she puts it, her first day on set. "Being surrounded by all of these comedy legends is a dream," she says. Exclusive: Oscar-winner Charlie Kaufman has found his next project as he is set to write and direct Later The War and tapped Eddie Redmayne, Tessa Thompson and Patsy Ferran to star. Kaufman adapted the script from the short story Debby’s Dream House by acclaimed author Iddo Gefen from his short story collection titled Jerusalem Beach.

This year’s Grammy week will be looking a little different, as the show will take place shortly after Los Angeles was devastated by wildfires in the Pacific Palisades and Altadena. Music’s biggest night will mark the first awards show to take place in L.A. since the tragedy began on Jan. 7, and many of the typical Grammy events have been canceled as the usual players — including Spotify and the major labels — redirect resources to aid wildfire relief efforts.

Craig Finn, longtime frontman of The Hold Steady, has announced Always Been, his sixth studio album set for release on April 4th. He’s also shared a new song, “People of Substance.”

Always Been was produced by Adam Granduciel of The War on Drugs, and features guest vocals from Kathleen Edwards and Sam Fender. Various members of The War on Drugs also play on the album, which was produced in Granduciel’s Burbank, California studio.

“I believe this to be the most narrative record I have made,” Craig Finn said in a statement. “Most songs concern a protagonist who pursued a career as a clergyman despite a lack of faith. The record tells the story of his rise and fall and redemption, while also filling out the details of his travels and the world in which he lives. I am very proud of what we made, I hope you enjoy.

In videos of the viral moment, the fan — named Miriam Cruz — can be seen hopping onto the stage and greeting each member of the bachata group, giving an extended kiss to Santos. The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim has debuted to $4.6 million at the box office, according to a recent report by Variety. However, it was revealed that the film’s performance in the box office was not Warner Bros.’ primary focus.

The anime film, which was produced on a $30 million budget, was developed and rushed into production primarily to safeguard New Line Cinema’s rights to adapt J. R. R. Tolkien’s works.

The studio has held these rights through a licensing agreement with Zaentz Co. since the late 1990s. Though the specific terms of the contract are not public, it is believed that Warner Bros. is required to maintain active development and production of Tolkien-related projects to retain the rights.

In early 2022, Zaentz Co., which controls a portfolio of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit rights, reportedly began exploring a sale of its Tolkien holdings.

“Not Fade Away” closed out the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony Sunday, just as honorees The Grateful Dead had used Buddy Holly’s ode to enduring love to close out hundreds of concerts over the years.

The packed house danced in the aisles to the bouncy beat after a night of honoring the Dead and other recipients of the lifetime achievement award for artistic accomplishment: director Francis Ford Coppola, jazz trumpeter Arturo Sandoval and singer-songwriter Bonnie Raitt. The venerable Harlem theater The Apollo, which has launched generations of Black artists, also was recognized.

One of the more debated additions of The War Within was the new Earthen Allied Race. They were created by the Titans and some later evolved into the Dwarfs players are used to today. They bring a more monotone and robotic attitude to Azeroth while being able to play nine of the current classes. The book explains the vast record of Middle-earth's various periods, wars, and species. Right in the midst of their co-headlining tour with The War on Drugs, The National have announced Rome, a new live album set for release on December 13th.

The album was recorded live, without any overdubs, during a June 3rd, 2024 show at Rome’s Cavea at Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. It’s comprised of 21 tracks and will be released as both a digital and 2xLP vinyl set. Members of The National’s Cherry Tree fan club will also be able to purchase a red, green, and white triple LP (a la the Italian flag) with five additional songs.

Now, the Adam Granduciel-led band is back with a follow-up live album, aptly titled Live Drugs Again, due on September 13th via Super High Quality Records. Today, alongside the album’s announcement, a live cut of their 2014 song “Burning” has arrived as the lead single.

With a 11-song tracklist drawing from several of their studio albums, Live Drugs Again was recorded between February 2022 and December 2023 at shows in the US, UK, Europe, and Australia.
