A General Hospital character is getting a new — but familiar — face.

On the heels of day player Robb Derringer tweeting-n-deleting about his release from the role of special agent Kyle Sloane, ABC has confirmed for Soap Opera Digest that daytime-tv vet Grayson McCouch is taking over the part.

McCouch’s soap resume include As the World Turns‘ Dusty Donovan (#Lusty4ever) and Another World‘s Dr. Morgan Winthrop, while his primetime credits include All Souls, Legacy and, most recently, Fox’s Gotham (as ill-fated Thomas Wayne).

“Trick-or-treating” started in England during the Middle Ages. On All Souls Day Eve peasants would go door-to-door begging for food in exchange for prayers for the dead. As society advanced, the practice has become nothing more then a trade off of candy for promises of a vandalism-free evening.

However, the offering of candy does not always guarantee your home’s safety. One must also consider the quality of the candy being offered. My mom never seemed to understand that those cheap peanut butter candies in their black and orange wrappers almost guaranteed a vinyl siding omelet.

It is important to research all your options and make informed choices when selecting which treat to give out this Halloween. Remember, the research you do now will save you clean up time later.

Very few people will argue that the Cadbury Easter Egg is the greatest candy ever made.

Sci Fi Channel has acquired rights to the off-network drama Star Trek: Enterprise along with several other series, made-for-TV movies and miniseries through a deal with CBS Paramount Domestic Television. Along with Enterprise, the deal includes exclusive cable rights to the classic series The Twilight Zone, which marks a renewal for the network; the show Tales From the Darkside; and such short-lived series as CBS' Threshold, starring Carla Gugino, and Wolf Lake, with Lou Diamond Phillips, as well as UPN's Jake 2.0, starring Christopher Gorham, and Haunted, featuring Matthew Fox. Other acquired titles include the series Kindred, the Embraced, Level 9, Special Unit 2 and All Souls. Sci Fi said it's planning to premiere Enterprise, a Star Trek prequel that stars Scott Bakula and ran from 2001-05 on UPN, in early fall. Tales From the Darkside will premiere later this year, and the other acquired series will debut sometime during the 2006-07 season.
