When will they ever learn

The only redeeming feature of this incredibly poor wannabe clone of "The Core" is they probably threw significantly less money down the toilet.

What a complete load of garbage. I'd rather watch a test card.

If you want details:

The script was appallingly repetitive and naive. The acting was more wooden than a sequoia. The special effects must have cost 90% of the budget. And the budget can't have been that big. The story was thoughtless and should never have made it past a one page sum up. The ending was farcical and predictable.

Oh dear God I could go on, but if I wrote a thousand words tearing this minger to pieces it still wouldn't do it justice.

Anecdotes
At the 46:52 mark, James gets out road map of Lindenville, WA which shown to be a small town with a lot of moisture. The map is actually showing Yakima, WA which is a small city in a very dry climate. The movie makers also edited the map to remove other city names but left all the roads. But the map still has some distinct names such as Tieton River, Bumping Lake, Chinook Pass, Crystal Mountain Resort, and Mt. Aix

Gaffes
When the comet fragment is falling to Earth, Pam tells James that is going to land at 51 latitude, 179 longitude, and warns him that that is only 100 miles from his location. However, James and his partner were at the Arctic Circle in mainland Alaska; 51N 179W is about 17 miles south of Amatignak Island in the Aleutians, about 1500 miles away.
