Some would say we need a break from vampire films. But I say nay. As long as they don't sparkle and mope, and I get to see massive carnage, bring on the creatures of the night.
Blakk Flamingo Pictures is answering the call on DVD this November with their first feature film, Bite Marks.
Bite Marks is also the first feature film for writer/director Mark Bessenger. Starring Windham Beacham (Long-Term Relationship), David Alanson, and Benjamin Lutz (The Love Patient), Bite Marks also features old Evil Ed himself, Stephen Geoffreys (Fright Night, 976-evil, The Weeping Woman).
From the Press Release:
Bite Marks is the creep-tastic dark tale of a truck driver named Brewster (Lutz), who is confronted by a bloody scary revelation: the delivery that he has accepted to take over from his missing brother, which he must transport to a funeral home, contains a load of coffins.

David Alanson In his first major film role, David Alanson had to provide the comic relief, run for his life from a hungry horde of vampires, seduce a bi curious straight man and be half of a bickering gay couple in the horror comedy Bite Marks. Not exactly an easy role even for an experienced veteran actor, because the role requires so much of its actor. However, David Alanson managed to make it all appear rather effortless when this role had great potential to come across as forced. He brought an overall likability to his performance when the character had the potential to be unappealing. He managed to not only put his own stamp on the role, but to hold his own weight against gay character actor Windham Beacham. Right off the bat, with just one major film to date, David Alanson is showing promise. The question is, will he live up to that promise?...

A trucker traveling with a feuding gay couple gets stuck out in the middle of nowhere after being involved in a near accident. However, it turns out that his cargo is blood thirsty vampires looking for their next meal.
A vampire horror comedy with a twist, but the problem is the twists aren't strong enough to make it stand out in a crowded sub-genre. Bite Marks features a gay couple and a homo erotic angel. However, the gay couple aren't developed in a meaningful way. They have a few little quips with one another and engage in some witty one liners about horror films, but beyond that the film doesn't paint a strong enough portrait of why the characters are with one another and what caused them to be attracted to one another.

When I first checked out the synopsis for the indy flick Bite Marks, I wasn't very enthused to say the least. I mean how good can a movie be when it's about a truck driver who just happens to be hauling coffins filled with blood thirsty vampires. Come on, that sounded pretty lame to me. But then when I watched the trailer and saw that Stephen Geoffreys ("Evil Ed" from Fright Night) was going to be reprising his role as a bloodsucker, I quickly ch…...

Here's a hint: If you're a truck driver and your cargo is to consist of a ton of coffins, you may just want to pawn off the delivery on someone else. No good can come of these circumstances. No good at all.
Below you'll find the first details, trailer, and stills for Mark Bessenger's latest indie flick Bite Marks, starring Windham Beacham, Stephen Geoffreys (Fright Night), and John Wersk.
No word on distro yet, but we'll keep an eye on things for ya!

NBC made some early pilot pickup announcements Wednesday night. They picked up Whitney Cumming’s untitled pilot, along with Christina Applegate’s untitled pilot, and the remake of the British Prime Suspect. But the big news is that they picked up the musical Smash, which has some interesting gay content.
Governor Jack Markell of Delaware has officially signed the civil unions act into law. Starting January 1st, we’re officially second class citizens!
In addition to planning an album with gay musicians, George Michael is embarking on the Symphonica tour, with a full orchestra backing him on his classic hits. I’d pay to see that.
Newt Gingrich has officially launched his presidential campaign. And his slogan is very familiar.
Keith Olbermann will have correspondents on his new show on Current TV, but don’t expect to find a conservative paired up with Keith. If anything, his lineup of contributors...

Mark Bessenger Hey horror fans. Remember how we've all been complaining about an array of lifeless horror film remakes and bland horror film concepts? So when something comes along that tries to give us something different, something edgy, we should be out there supporting it, right? ....Well Bite Marks starring Windham Beacham, Benjamin Lutz, David Alanson and Stephen Geoffreys, is that film! Bite Marks deals with a truck driver and a gay couple who must fight off a pack of blood thirsty vampires after their truck breaks down in the middle of a lumber yard and it turns out their cargo is a coffin carrying vamps. What makes Bite Marks different is its humor, the way that its characters develop, the merger of horror/comedy/gay indie film, etc. You're probably saying to yourself though "but that's the gay vampire film?". Gay, straight, black, white, low budget, big budget -...

Bite Marks Windham Beacham, Stephen Geoffreys, Jon Gale and Benjamin Lutz star in the debut feature of writer/director Mark Bessenger of Bite Marks. "Bite Marks" marks Stephen Geoffreys return back to the sub-genre that made him famous. He memorably played the character of Evil Ed in the 1985 horror classic Fright Night which proved to be a breakthrough role for the actor who also starred in 976-Evil as another angst ridden character.
After a lengthy absence from horror films, Stephen Geoffreys returns full throttle to genre that gave him a cult like following amongst fans. Bite Marks represents one of the films that will reintroduce the actor to the people that grew up watching him.

Bite Marks, the new darkly comedic vampire film from writer/director Mark Bessenger, combines two fantasy scenarios - vampirism, and the hot trucker who seems straight but just might be a little gay around the edges. But don't worry, straight guys, there is a nice set of vampiric boobs on display for quite a bit of the film as well.
