Luke Geissbühler and his son Max launched an amateur spacecraft in 2010 that recorded the curvature of the earth and footage of the sun against the blackness of near-space. They reached an altitude of 120,000', higher than reported in the short film, Space Balloon released in 2010, and four times the altitude of a standard airliner.
