MSNBC has named Crooked Media’s Madeleine Haeringer as its new senior vice president of digital, audio and longform.

Haeringer, who previously spent 22 years working across NBC News and MSNBC, returns to the latter network on May 7 and will report directly to president Rebecca Kutler.

In her new role, she will oversee MSNBC.com, the network’s social publishing, audio offerings and longform projects, partnering closely with Meredith Bennett-Smith, Brad Gold, Aisha Turner, Alisha Conley and their respective teams.

During her former stint at NBCUniversal, Haeringer served in several senior roles, including senior vice president of editorial for NBC News, where she managed the editorial agenda and coordinated coverage across all broadcast, cable, streaming and digital platforms. Following the newly released American Manhunt: O.J. Simpsonand 2023’s American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing, the franchise will focus next on the efforts to find Islamic extremist Osama bin Laden.

From directors Mor Loushy and Daniel Sivan, this three-part docuseries, releasing on May 14, 2025, provides an in-depth look at how the world mobilized to hunt down bin Laden, founder of the militant Islamist organization al-Qaida, after his orchestration of the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States. Featuring interviews with key figures in the US government who assisted in the global pursuit, American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden recounts the decade-long mission to capture one of the world’s most notorious terrorists.

Starting on March 1,Zero Dark Thirty will finally be available for streaming on Peacock. The story takes place after the dreadful 9/11 attacks, where Chastain’s Maya has been tasked to search for the whereabouts of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, who has been identified as the mastermind behind the 9/11 tragedy. The film chronicles the decade-long global manhunt for the most dangerous man on the planet, with an elite team of intelligence and military operatives devoting themselves to finding and eliminating the enemy. The streamer announced during its Next on Netflix event that it will be premiering new projects about the Manson murders, Osama Bin Laden, the Titan submarine implosion and Hurricane Katrina, just to name a few of its upcoming buzzy docs.

The first major new documentary release is a big one. The documentary film “Chaos: The Manson Murders” will premiere on March 7. From legendary filmmaker Errol Morris, who previously released “The Thin Blue Line” and “The Fog of War,” little is known about this project other than its subject matter. The film is likely based on Tom O’Neill’s “Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties.” Morris, Robert Fernandez and Steven Hathaway serve as producers.

Netflix has quite a large slate of new and returning series coming in 2025. The slate was previewed Wednesday at the streamer’s annual Next on Netflix event in Los Angeles, which was also streamed across the globe.

Some of the most anticipated projects include Stranger Things 5 and Wednesday Season 2, neither of which have premiere dates just yet. So far, Netflix has revealed a huge slate for February, as well as a smattering of series that are expected through August, but a large portion of the series the streamer says we’ll see this year haven’t been confirmed for a specific date yet.

Maya is modeled after the real operative who helped track and eliminate bin Laden after a decade-long manhunt. The film's highlight is the painstakingly accurate recreation of the Abbottabad compound raid, which lasted 40 minutes and ended with bin Laden dead.

Exclusive: Kathryn Bigelow looks to have found a familiar face to round out the ensemble to her all-star cast as Jason Clarke, who starred in Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty, is set to join her next film at Netflix. The untitled thriller also stars Idris Elba, Rebecca Ferguson, Jared Harris, Greta Lee, Tracy Letts, Moses Ingram, Anthony Ramos and Gabriel Basso. Bigelow will direct.
