Commentaire à la une
Killing God is a dark horror comedy by Caye Casas, the creator of The Coffee Table. The film serves as a satirical commentary on human flaws, existence, selfishness, and the hypocrisy of human nature. While it's not a movie that will appeal to everyone, I enjoyed it quite a bit. The characters and story almost felt like something Álex de la Iglesia might create.
One of the standout elements is the character who may possibly be God (played by Emilio Gavira). With his dwarf stature, scruffy facial hair, and rough appearance, he delivers a hilarious performance that left a strong impression.
If, like me, you've watched a lot of Spanish cinema, you might recognize much of the small cast. Eduardo Antuña (Common Wealth, The Coffee Table) was especially funny as Carlos. David Pareja (The Coffee Table, Magical Girl) gave a solid performance, Francesc Orella (The Invisible Guest, Julia's Eyes) brought humor to his role as the old man, and Itziar Castro (Skins) was entertaining as the unhappy wife.
I found the satire enjoyable and the concept amusing. However, it's worth noting that the movie is primarily dialogue-driven, so keep that in mind if you plan to watch it.
Overall, Killing God is a 7.5/10 for me.

- AnecdotesIn this movie, Eduardo Antuña meets God. In El fin del universo, Dios y la nada (2008) (from Plutón B.R.B. Nero (2008)), Antuña plays another version of God.
- Crédits fousMain credits handwritten in bloc sheets (like the bloc sheet used by God in the story), on the floor among leaves and cockroaches (mentioned as survivors in the conversation between Carlos and Santi). During the rest of the credits, cockroaches crawl around and over the words.
