In July 2020, the studio confirmed that they "passed on the film." That either means that they sold the rights to another studio or that they still own the rights but they just don't want to release the film, which is weird. Since the original studio passing on the film, currently it still doesn't have a theatrical distributor according to IMDb and Wikipedia, although it does have home media distributors. This month, an official trailer (sort of) released on YouTube and other video websites (you can find it online if you search for it, although not on YouTube). I say 'sort of' because it wasn't on the official studio channel, it was just a regular small channel posting the trailer, which leads me to believe that it got leaked. A few days later, all the videos of the trailer on YouTube got taken down due to copyright. Apart from this leaked trailer, the only other piece of marketing was literally just 2 posters. Judging by the mess of the marketing this film had, I would say that the studio just gave up on the film and that it most likely won't be released. Best case scenario, it goes straight to DVD (and even that's highly unlikely). A theatrical release is definitely cancelled though.

UPDATE: Hulu just picked up the film. It's scheduled to release some time in 2021, no specific month has been confirmed yet.
